My server never has a queue (and if we do, it's 20 people and nothing a "Cancel and Retry" doesn't bypass).
I'm trying to log back in to finish up some scrip turn-ins before reset, and now I'm sitting in a queue.

"Its just 10 minutes!"
Just logged back in after that 10 minutes, it did nothing to help congestion.

Most likely with the advent of the afk log off function they put on, most servers have lots of afk people. Even though the login is short, the entire load may be putting pressure on the entire data center. Even though the servers with issue are causing the bulk of the load, they're trying to ease the burden by stopping everyone who is causing issue, however minor. With the 4.01 patch soon, I expect new afk measures and a removal of this measure.
This is a very good point to remember. I still don't find it particularly onerous, but a 10-minute forced logout is, particularly for players on DD roles, more like a 60-90 minute affected window of time. Similarly so if you're doing bursts of crafting / gathering using XP bonus scrolls with time limits attached.
I see that you list DRK as your main job, so then you probably don't understand the DPS queues, but when we wait for 30-45 minutes, have to stop queuing because we'll be booted before the queue even pops/we complete the duty (it boots you out of those, too), have to wait in a log-in queue upon logging back in (my server never has these and I got stuck in one 10 minutes AFTER the servers came back up), and then requeue, basically waiting 30-45 minutes again, if not more, to get into a duty or roulette (and Roulettes seem to take even longer than directly queuing into dungeons for leveling), it's far more than just a "10 minute downtime."
You are really selfsh, just saying. You know full well there are servers with absolutely no problems but you somehow thing this is OK just because it Might help you and a few. There is no excuse for SE not doing this to a selective few servers instead of all of them.
I'm @ 20 minutes currently still waiting on a que to log into my server thanks to the mass exodus SE has done. Now everyones trying to log back in at the same time.
It is sort of annoying when I've had zero queue since HW launch and wait hours for PVP to pop only for this new system to disrupt that kind of thing... but I'm not really upset. I don't think these measures will last long before the serial AFKers stop bothering and we can all move on with our lives. The fact that people are actively trying to leave Balmung and cannot due to the AFKers breaking the housing instancing is obviously not acceptable. Good luck to those trying to break free!
