Castrum Meridianum is ruined.

I kinda feel for the OP here. I recently leveled an alt to 50 and got though the 2.0 story line and I also kept the sprout showing.

its kinda shocking how people just run though the last 2 dungoens even with people with sprouts showing, I kinda feel embarrassed to be an end game player.

I didn't even get asked if I needed an explanation over mechanics (ok don't really need to know but hey ho)

It's been like this since week 1 for this instance. Those of us who completed it during ARR Early Access were already being told to skip the CS and getting left behind.

And to be really honest, this one experience shouldn't make you consider giving up the game completely. If you are doing anything in a public forum period, but gaming in particular, you need to have a thicker skin. If one bad group/experience wants to make you throw in the towel you are heading into a world of disappointment. Just brush it off, try to learn for next time and keep on keeping on. :)

This is one issue that has been felt by the majority of us, I've been playing since 2.0, and got to 50 a week before 2.1 and even I experience this 4 years ago. Trust me, the game is worth continuing.

Both HW and SB final duties consist of a dungeon and a trial with very few cutscenes (I believe HW dungeon has two short ones, and SB dungeon has one short one) with the bulk of the story being delivered between the two instances, and after the trial has been beaten.

I feel you, man :/ I started playing a few months before the launch of HW, and by the time it took me to reach that point in story (took me a while because I was more interested in leveling other jobs instead of doing story), everyone and their moms and pet cockatiels knew how to speedrun that thing - I was lucky enough because my FC at the time warned me before I queued up that CM was dreadful in that people were unlikely to wait or even notice if you were behind, that it would be surely a speedrun with little chance of explanation or cutscene watching.

Despite having been warned I still got lost (shortly after disposal chute tbh), and after a few minutes I just gave up trying to keep up and just watched all cutscenes :P no one really said anything. Same with Praetorium. Those are the only two instances where this happens - both dungeons are FILLED with cutscene-stops, and peope just looking to go in and grind their daily exp bonus are unlikely to bother explaining or waiting up. As someone currently trying to get my lvl 60 alts to 70, I can sympathize with people just wanting to get in and out ASAP.

You were extremely unlucky having landed a team of people with so little patience, though, as most teams for these instances usually have one or two bonuses and people running roulettes usually don't mind them staying behind to watch cutscenes or taking a while to catch up (even if they don't wait, which honestly 99% of DF runs won't do).

You can blame this on crappy playerbase if you will, but truth be told these instances can take up to one hour if you stop to watch ALL cutscenes in their entirety, so it's to be expected that people won't wait up for that :/

No other instances in the game follow that example though, all others only having two cutscenes, one at the start of the run and another before the final boss - you should note, however, that if you want to be able to rewatch those lost cutscenes in CM you can rewatch them at the "unending journey" at any Inn Room in the major cities :)

I KNOW it sucks to be told "just grin and bear with it", but please understand that most people run this once everyday just for their daily bonus and they just want it over ASAP, and if they all let the new people watch every cutscene and pull everything one pack at a time, no one would ever even queue up for this because it takes AGES to complete. :(

I personally as a healer found another healer to que with me... after the first giant pull of everyone dieing they grumbled and waited for us.

At this point the best thing they could do is make both of these solo instances and then introduce Ultima (Story) as a trial.

It's one of the worst dungeons in the game and people are sick of doing it since 2013. It's just an unfortunate outdated roadblock that SE hasn't addressed yet.

Had a similar experience when I cleared it back in 2.4, shortly after joining. Though I was immensely lucky in that the FC I was with at the time filled five of the remaining seven slots and stone walled any attempt to harass me out of the cutscenes. We had a bard and their friend constantly harranging me to hurry up and how they needed to leave soon for some errand, how I was inconveniencing them and should just skip the cutscenes and watch them at a later date. The latter firmly ignoring the fact that a few of those cutscenes frankly don't appear in the Journey log, or at least didn't at the time - namely Baelsar's entire speech in his encounter. Thankfully my FC was kind and told the two firmly off but it left a sour impression for the longest time that I still have issues waving away whenever I enter those instances.

Yes it is so dumb they seriosuly need to lower the item sync on that so people cant just breeze through it and getting a full party of 8 to run on min i level sync settings to experience it as it was intended is hard on some servers and even tougher with the launch of a new expansion

Just did this one for the first time. </3. Don't play past level 49 if you like the story. No one else does.
