Solo Avatar fights

The primal battles are already catered for casual play as it is because the retry/re-entry timer is so low. A majority of my LS is players that can only play weekend evenings and we still get a lot of mileage out of the Ifrit fight because the prerequisites are easily soloable and it's easy to schedule the actual fight and deal with people coming and going. There is bound to be groups like my own on other servers that are occasionally 1-2 people short so stick a note that you're up for whatever fight in your search comment and set your flag to Seeking Party.

As far as solo content, I'd prefer for more unique solo content instead of just weaker versions of content geared towards party play. Stuff like Company Leve NMs and things like that.

As far as not being able to commit to a linkshell I suggest to party up and find some good people to hang out with. There's more than enough good people out there that will try to accommodate your schedule if you're polite and such, I know I would.

"End-game" content (no matter how lacking, boring, monotonous, etc.) shouldn't be meant for solo-play in an MMO - it would defeat the entire purpose of playing an MMO. Other types of content, however, could be made for solo-play.

While I myself am also a solo player, endgame should remain as a party exclusive thing. If they made the same fights for solo players, it would have to have little to no rewards that match the party reward.

they did solo stuff before and it workd and other games too. no one said it was going to be the main focus of endgame or even it it is endgame. we have quest that are solo should that be grouped only too, should we be forced to group like FFXI for everything??

"Other games" also didn't give you comparable rewards for solo -- So nothing wrong with solo end-game content as long as it doesn't overstep or compete with group based content since the whole point of an MMO is playing with other people and if you can get the best rewards while solo or in a party...what's the most likely option people will choose given the whole casual/solo route MMOs have been taking?

Same thing with "solo avatar fights" -- the lesser summons Yoshida mentioned would work fine as solo or party since story related they aren't gods, current Primals are gods and shouldn't be soloable ever, even the low level version of Ifrit is basically soloable if you're 50 but that was story related given what we already know of Ifrit (and already had previous contact with him) but it's why they introduced a real version of him to fight as well.

Well.. no.. that's not what I said. In my previous post, I said that solo players just wouldn't receive the same awesome stuff. I never said that they couldn't receive any awesome stuff.

There would have to be some kind of compromise. If player participate in difficult content, which may require a full party of 8 who form strategies, communicate, and cooperate together, then yes, they deserve a higher category of rewards to reflect their accomplishments. Solo players have every right to do difficult content, but they don't have to deal with the same stresses that group play involves. So, there should be a different tier of rewards for those kinds of solo events. :)
