To the Astros out there...

The new gauge is horrible. Its aesthetically pleasing, for sure, but it tells you no new information.

You have to have Draw, Spread and minor on a CD bar anyway, because the new gauge doesn't tell you the CD of each of those abilities, which is crucial information to know with the new sleeve draw ability.
If I could, I would turn it off. You can see Draw, Spread and Minor arcanum via the skills anyway, and they tell you the CD of each skill after you've used them. But I have to keep it on to keep track of royal road.
The gauge should also show the CD of time dilation and CO IMO, as they are two CDs usually used with cards anyway.

I hope we get either buffs back or the simpler version of the gauge which is supposedly coming out before omega savage.

Well I can see how the "Undraw" works now, its supposed to help instead of waiting for the 1-2 second window for redraw, which you cant do anymore. The Astro gauge seems the most unnessary gauge but for the others I can see how they are more useful for tracking your oaths, lillies, songs, Sam, rdm and the extra timers they added into everyone's class. For new people Astro gauge is easier for them to comprehend what they have burned and held, but I was used to the old gauges and what they looked like so I knew.

They removed the ability to cancel a royal road buff and stated it was no longer possible in one of the job update pages sadly. :(

I haven't really played AST much, but I'm having trouble reconciling the ideas of "two ASTs coordinating buffs" and "Expanded Balance is the only thing you ever want to use, throw away everything else." Can someone help me out here?

I would say "Expanded Balance" is the most common buff that is uses (50% the potency of the card which increases the damage of the player its cast on umm 8 people doing more damage yum) but for astros our cards cant stack with another's. visually we used to be able to see if they had an expanded, concentrated or extended buff and whatever card they were holding. SO one Astro could be spreading balance and another saves Bole (damage reduction card) either expanded for a group buster or concentrated/extended for a tank for future tank buster or if they pull adds like in zurvan ex where the first set of adds are always doing crit so I add an extended or concentrated Bole while another Astro adds balance to the whole group, their card going first since they would have canceled my bole if I threw it out first. It's just all to help with coordination since we have a lot of utility to help damage and mitigation.

They're not 'buffs' anymore.

They don't show up on the buff bar, and as they're not 'buffs' they can't be removed with the /statusoff command.

For some reason I was thinking even with two ASTs they'd just trade turns, but that all explains it perfectly, thank you.

Having not seen it so far in this thread, I'll just refer to the American League baseball club and see myself out.
