This is another one of those single player duties where if you listen to what your allies tell you then there isnt really much mystery about how to win. You run forward, they stop to fight. After a min, one of them tells you to run ahead. It happens again, a separate ally peals off to stop the enemies. You always get to the ovoo on time. Most of the NPCs are fighting each other and ignoring you. You can assist your allies, or just take care of the ones hitting you. After a min or two one of your allies spots an opening and tells you to claim the ovoo. Just before you can, the real enemies start to show up. One of your allies says that theyll need to be stopped first. So you fight the sun and his friends for a min, then the Dotharl arrive. She spams the field with some aoes, and eventually summons the big stone tablets that make her invincible. An ally tells you to hurry up and smash those tablets. Soon after that both her and the sun are out of hp, and your ally tells you to claim the ovoo(if you havent already made a move for it). And a couple times during the fight some nobody NPC will make an attempt on the circle, but any damage at all to them cancels the move(and sure enough, an ally tells you to stop them).
Failed first try(i was trying to kill everything), succeeded on second(BLM in a mix of shisui bardams and older gear - still using Lux for a weapon). I do also know that you can get an echo on this, so failing upwards is also possible.
