I actually love the new map themes and especially the combat theme.
I fear the whole MSQ thing is really going to dull my mood towards the rest of the expansion, however.

To be honest im likeing it so far sam is fun rdm looks interesting story seems good (what I've seen of it) just gota clean up all this salt clogging the game up and I think we will be ok lol but yea the charicter animations feel smoother and convey emotion alot better also the gfx update to the lighting looks awesome and swimming is fun :D all in all I'm liking it alot oh and the new pvp is amazing
The expansion itself looks downright incredible. Looks to be better than Heavensward. Unpopular opinion but I think the balance looks to be great, aside from astro needing to be toned down.
And no one can play it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've just been spamming Heavensward FATEs leveling red mage, since any attempt to do other stuff has gotten me 90k'd.
Other than the new jobs I haven't seen new stuff yet. And I don't like a lot of the changes to existing jobs.
But it's kind of amazing being able to change gear without having to play musical chairs with my items, swapping them in and out of the armory chest.
I love this expansion it's great:
-Musics are awesome, nice scenery and quests
-I loved how they arranged the first dungeon it was a well start.
-I had the same issue as everyone for the MSQ but i went to do something else, unlock other jobs , start class quest 60 then by the time i logged back the next day it was ok.
-There is actually something i regret about the MSQ is that i have to do the instance fights alone, it would be fun to team up with friends.
That's the only thing i can say for now, i didn't progress enough to make an actual statement about how good or bad is this expansion.
Didn't get to see much of it until I got to Raubahn, so can't say anything since I can't play it.

Pros:
- New sprint animations
- Relevant vendors now default to Equipped gear
- Paladins can block magic now
- Any new voice acting thus far seems pretty decent for both ENG and JPN
- Improvements to the Map UI
- Increased maximum mount speed
- I can dye more HW gear now, via SB gear...
Cons:
- The gauges, and oftentimes the mechanics behind them, are unbelievably stupid. If BotD's timing out was the issue, then simply grant x BotD "energy" or stacks per F&C/WT. Why is it mandatory to split up your vital information? The status bar versions were far more intuitive for me. Worse, you can no longer track that information on party bars as to, say, tell how many Aetherflow stacks your SCH has or what card your co-Astrologian has drawn. The whole thing reeks of a pride project rather than anything of value.
- SE seems to have no broad vision as to what it actually intends for various concerns such as endgame balance, progressive (leveling) balance, the place of AoE and CC, skill-floors and skill ceilings, etc. Any hypothesis one person could point out that would suggest a coherent vision, another could point out blatantly conflicting evidence from another job.
- Despite PS3s being blamed for a plethora of issues, map size alone seems to have been "fixed" with the removal of PS3 support, and thus far (having been trying and unable since within 30 minutes of launch to get through Cold Steel) that space doesn't seem to utilized to provide anything more than extended travel distances between the few interesting landmarks.
- More wrong than right in DoW/DoM toolkit streamlining if the purpose was to raise the skill floor without diminishing interest or intensity of gameplay.
- Massive server issues. Constant disconnections. Increased frequency of lobby errors. Crashed updaters. The vast majority of the playerbase unable to progress in MSQ. Players locked out for the remainder of early access upon completion of the Susano trial. Etc., etc.
