Lets all shut up and say what we are all thinking: is there really a when ifrit bleeds for little big planet 2?
Patch rate is okay, problem is there was so much wrong with the game that it will take a long time to fix.
My biggest problem with their patch releases is the producer coming out and promising certain things being delivered by certain times and then failing at it.
Patch rate is fine, ppl are just impatient :(
More people on a dev team does not mean faster production, if anything it actually means slower production speeds given that you'll have more people to look after/manage (not always, but it can actually slow things down depending) -- I've seen game projects house more than 500 people through collaboration between multiple studios and it still took 3-5 years for the game to come out.
XIV actually patches at a quick pace given the fact the team is also working on a brand new client and server infrastructure, some MMOs that aren't working on a total overhaul patch a lot slower comparatively.
220 people not enough for you?
Really, adding more people at this point won't make anything go faster. You can only have so many designers and programers on any one aspect at a time before it becomes redundand and people get in the way of each other. As I understand it, the problem with the speed of development and underwhelming results stems from poor internal comunication at square as it grows beyond its means, and it's something they're working on restructuring.
No more excuses, or delays SE, lets make this happen. Last chance to get the game right. Or i will be quitting and taking entire LS and server with me.
^exactly this. You know there's an old saying, "Too many cooks spoil the broth." Having more people doesn't necessarily make things easier or faster and in some cases can end up ruining things.
Honestly, FFXIV's patch rate is pretty good compared to some MMOs out there. I have no issue with how fast they're coming, especially considering that they're also rebuilding the game from the ground up while adding in content. I don't think most other companies could even handle that kind of an undertaking.
What a disappointing comment.
Why won't you dedicate yourself for free and help them then? Or donate a large sum of money so they can hire additional personal without increasing their cost? Or, best of all, why not be patient? It is not an easy task they are doing and have a lot on their hands (just look around the forum and you'll see plenty of complaints already).
Hopefully this thread gets closed, it is Yoshi-P's responsibility to deal with such question, not ours.
