In all seriousness, I'm not really all that concerned. I'm literally on the other side of the continent from the servers now (Nova Scotia) and my latency is 150 currently.
Well lets analyze, we are talking about a difference in service dependability. I've lived and travel to Texas. It's a nice place to visit, but technology wise and dependability Cali beats it hands down. It's only logical to place it somewhere were it's dependable and services are more reliable net wise. Also they might be doing so to force players to change servers and balance it out in the long run from what I can see.
Living in Oregon, my ping is now 27ms. I have no clue what it was before, but it seriously didn't matter. I played the game just fine. Lots of people are overreacting to this, but that's just evidence that SB needs to get here!
If I can play the game from Australia on a JP server you guys should be able to handle playing on a server located on the same continent. There was no way that no one was going to be at least slightly negatively effected by this move and frankly there are a lot of factors that would effect performance beyond physical distance. They specifically chose a location with reliable and well developed internet infrastructure according to the live letter.
As I said, if my FC can raid Savage Alex with AU ping then you guys in NA should be fine. Frankly give it a month or two and you will probably be used to the change and barely notice it anymore.
