Are high lvl players normally rude?

It really depends on the tank and if they are a mentor or not. For the most part Mentors will help with the exception of a few trolls here and there. There's only a few dungeons, mostly old ones up to lvl 50t hat have multiple rooms. We tanks like to do speed runs being we have other things we try to accomplish. Normally if I'm tanking and someone ask I'm willing to if the group agrees. Otherwise I advice to do hunt logs ( Job / Company ) for fast exp or fates while in queue being that now you can have choco out and makes them go faster. You can also ask help in the novice LS for a tank or ask an FC / Friend to tank for you a few runs.

I don't know percentages but some people can be rude. I wouldn't let it deter you from playing. The good news is all the dungeons before Heavensward you'll be able to enter solo and explore on your own. I did that recently to get some achievements I had missed in the older content by not exploring the entire dungeon. It was actually way quicker too since you're going unsynced (sp?).

Anyway, people all play the game differently or as my grandfather always said..."Share a joke, hum a song, pass some special joy along. But if someone should come your way, who doesn't share your joy today, the hell with them." :)

If i tank a low level and i see people need exp, regardless of actual level, 9 or 59, i always ask if they want a complete run. Unfortunately, when i dont tank i cant assist them. I always try to be respectful. But sadly thats not the case for some people. If I'm in a rush for something, i dont subject others to my schedule as its not right.

That behavior is quite common but not all the time by high level's. If you want a percentage, i would say around 75% when it comes to "low" level dungeons.The problem here are not the community or players, it's the way SE makes us do things. Adding every little/low level dungeon to the roulette's, or to daily/weekly tasks for high levels to finish up, makes it very frustrating and time consuming at times.

Now I understand that low/new players don't want to wait hrs in the duty finder and that having veterans helping out is nice to have, however let's take cutters cry for an example. Most of the time the tank or healer leaves right away, meaning that the dps have now to find new players, that can sometimes depending on the time and data center take longer then just re queue.

Other times because it's low level, the whole dungeon is at a different pace compared to obviously the high level dungeons, also you're having less freedom in your rotations since mostly you're left at 4-6 buttons, making some runs extremely boring.

Anyway back to cutters cry, if you find a tank/healer that stays, these people will not run that whole dungeon for you, especially since potd has been added to the game.

Sometimes you can find some kind souls that have couple hours to spare and remember how it have been, and they will do that but it's not the majority.

In fact it's save to say by now, that it's more the majority rushing/skipping dungeons/mobs/bosses/mechanics etc. if possible.

Sometimes I think people hope for achievements at the end of the day aka "run cutters cry in 1.5 minutes) or some bs lol. But yea, sadly to say, it's not as patient anymore compared to the old arr times but that can be a positive thing as well.

personally if a person is new and wants to full clear/get discovery I do not mind, but it is a grey area to be honest. Some people plan their roulettes around a schedule and as such are trying to go for a quick clear. Still, calling a new player "rude" for asking for things is a bit overboard, but our community does tend to be passive aggressive as hell at times :P That said though, keep in mind some people will just tell you they find it inefficient/time consuming to do so, they will explain it in a nicer way to you but ultimately the result will be the same.

Asking for help politely isn't rude.
Refusing to help someone isn't being rude.
Ignoring someone who asked for help (or anyone that is obviously talking to you) is rude.
Calling a person who asked for help (assuming politely) rude is just plain silly.

You should remember that ultimately you are playing extremely outdated content. You mentioned a door, so I can only imagine you are talking about.... thousand maws of toto rak? While you would get some players up for helping new people, a lot of people just want to get in and out because they have done that dungeon several hundred times over the past 4 years (longer if you were part of 1.0), and that dungeon in particular isn't seen as particularly enjoyable by a fair few people (I affectionately call it "thousand snores of toto rak" as an example).

On top of that, if we are talking about optimal levelling, running the dungeon fast would level you up faster and exploring everything has very little incentive, though I don't think that applies to you, as you just want to explore. Sorry that you got caught up in the busy rush of endgame grind during levelling anyway, I personally think it is unfair to have newer players conform to endgame ideals, but that is the fault of the system, not the players, so it is a bit more difficult to complain about.

People like that have forgotten what it's like to truly enjoy playing the game. It's quite sad, but it seems like it's inevitable once an MMORPG lives longer than a year or two.

really, if you're one of those my-way-or-the highway people, stay out of the DF. You're going to meet all kinds in there, and should be prepared to cater to whatever group you happen to land in. If you don't have the patience for it, don't do it.

The they just want to finish fast or they've is done it a millions times excuses are lame. If you don't want to run the dungeon stay out of the roulettes. most of the people I've met in game would not have treated you this way and would have helped. I would have helped. Sadly there are completely self absorbed players in the game too. My advice is find a FC or linkshells that are helpful and active going in with even a partial premade can help.
