Do you NOT have a main job?

I stick with WHM mostly. I like to heal and WHM is the job I like healing with the most. I do swap to level other jobs but I almost never enter any dungeon that isnt a leveling dungeon as something other than WHM.

I have a main job now, it being monk. But back on my first character (January 2014-August 2015), I was maining monk and white mage equally between (around) november 2014 to June 2015, after which white mage was my main job during Heavensward 3.0, and monk has been my main since I made my second character in November 2015.

I main monk on another character.
I main dark knight on another character.
I main astrologian on another character.
And I finally main black mage on yet another character.

Which one I play the most depends on my mood and whether one of them has a particular glamour goal. I do consider the ninja my main, though I really don't play her that often these days anymore.

I bounce between 2 I like to play, one patch I will gear one first. Next patch a may gear the other first, all depends on my mood.

I also have a couple alts who have 1 job at 60 that I can tinker with when I get bored and want to play something different. So if I cap tomes, get my drops on my main one week, I can switch to an alt and get some tomes and a drop here or there. They gear slower but are fully geared on their one job well before the patch is outdated.

I switched more during ARR and early HW, but I've been a lot more focused since I returned and have basically just played WHM. This is in part because I joined a new free company and started actually doing some content I couldn't gear up for in a day, which pretty much makes the decision for me of what class I'll attend as. Paladin is also my default choice of tank, as I don't like the other two as much. My DPS job constantly changes though and I'll be looking at RDM for Stormblood, though I level everything. I also like to switch up my healing with AST a bit.

i can never decide what healer i'd rather be, so i end up switching between all three.

I'm determined to choose a main for stormblood.

Leveling everything was and is one of my main goals and time sinks. That said, I found myself playing WHM whenever it was time to do something that progresses my character, so I just fell into it being my main. That isn't to say I don't enjoy WHM, I enjoy it quite a lot. This is partially due to my FFXI main not existing yet. I know it'll be flavor of the month but unless I can't stand the play style, i'll be focusing on SAM.

My main is PLD, probably always will be (unless they let us fuse to Job's in some sorta custom class builder, then I'll be a Shield & Pistol welding MCH/PLD/healer hybrid, with a Job stone in Mind & Dexerity... which can only qurry as DPS, but can OT in bursts)... back on point, PLD is always my 1st class to level to max & 1st class to get higher ilv gear threw weekly tomes, next is a 50/50 split between my fav Heal & fav DPS class with other slightly lower ilv gearing methods at the time (MCH & AST atm... was MCH/WHM)

I've primarily focused on blm and whm I love both of those jobs but do find it a little hard to get them geared with their BiS before the gear gets replaced with higher level stuff. There has been a few other jobs I've taken interest in and have levelled but it's been tough to properly gear them for much.

I'm almost sick of the gear grind just for the gear I just got to be outdated to be honest. I think I'm almost at the point of quitting the game, it ends up where I'm only able to focus on 1 or maybe 2 jobs at most, at least with other games I've played I was able to level and gear multiple jobs without my gear for them becoming out dated in the process

GLA/PLD is definitely my main, for not only gameplay reasons (it was the first class I levelled to 50 and then 60, and I find it the easiest and most relaxing to play as), but also for sentimental reasons - GLA was my starting class in version 1.0 and so I have that nostalgia at least. Plus roleplaying-wise the backstory I have written for Enki is that she is a free knight (a knight errant if you will), and so GLA/PLD only fits into that. :)

Which goes against my usual preferences to play as WHM or as a healing class or Job in games, but I dislike the healing meta in FFXIV and feel healing as WHM particularly at high levels is just too complex and confusing - ironically I only really like healing as CNJ/WHM at low levels. Figures I guess. :p
