New Cross Server PF is Intimidating

It's amazing. I love it. My world's PF used to have 0-1 PFs open at all times other than peak hours when we might get up to the heady heights of 4-7 PFs running at once. Now, I can actually see that it's not a single player game and there's more going on than one guy trying to RP or recruit people to kill a single A rank mob. Hurrah!

I just hope people will precise which server they are on when creating pf to sell their house :p

Well, for one thing not all PF features are capable of being run crossworld and some people are putting PFs in crossworld that can't actually be done crossworld. Not sure how much of the clutter is because of it, but some of it is.

It's not too bad. Only thing I find slightly annoying are the people trying to hold a conversion on PF like "Hey guyzzz" or a PF that is something that you can't actually do cross server like selling stuff but is there in the cross server list anyways. At least there is a filter.

The new party finder is great for servers like Adamantoise with low population numbers, it both helps and strengthens our community. I can understand the intimidation factor, however that's what filters are there for. As far as the 20+ EX parties... that'll now exist for any new patch, and my recommendation is that you either wait a few days, or create a world party finder.

I really like it. The only frustration I have at the moment with it is parties are often filling too fast and sometimes by the time I scroll through them all to find a party I wish to join, it's been filled. It's definitely a frustration I can live with, though and as I get better at remember to properly use the filters the problem should dissipate. It's especially nice since I play somewhat late and even on Balmung in the first few hours of my night I could find plenty of PFs up before but by the last few hours before I go to bed it was often pretty devoid of anything to do.

Don't get me wrong, the diversity in the PF is nice to see, but could it start server wars? You join a party with let's say 6 people from exodus, 2 people join from ultros. Now the 2 ultros people just can't seem to do mechs. In RF there was a sense of ambiguity, now everyone will know where you're from.

Just random things I think of.

I have to respect the development team for their work trying to deal with such a culture clash getting the same things to work on both JP and non-JP server groups. PF conversations? Cross-world politics? Selling runs? Selling houses? It's like another world in every sense :s

Ours is literally just a bunch of Zurvan/WT/Alex Savage groups peppered with a few RPers having fun and occasional first timers wanting a fresh run through Haukke Manor to train their newbie friend etc. I think the most edgy thing I've ever seen in PF was a drunk person suggesting an all-night bird farm. These anecdotes are on another level.

This is one the best things to happen to the game, it's awesome seeing how busy the pf is now.

I kind of expect that there are people who do realize that but put up crossworld PFs anyway to make sure the players on their world see their PF. Saw two PFs up yesterday advertising for the same group selling runs, one PF limited to the world, one PF in crossworld.
