Suggestion: Bring back motion capture to cutscenes.

God no. Japanese mocap kills my soul. And I am not so in love with the same running animation, that finger point thing that they do where they kinda waggle their finger (so annoying), and the most groan inducing over acting that swaps between kabuki and sentai.

Realism can be created without mocap, and the less awkward walking animations and everyone moving in some kind of annoying way or other all the time all the time like they got ADD the better.

I don't want my Roe to go from proud amazon to parody tier wrestler lady or kawaii desu waif. Cause that's what happens to women in JP mocap. [vomits externally]

I dont have much against the quality of the cutscene itself but more about the characters in it. Its really awkward to see each person turning exactly the same way, they look like puppets when they do that. The glances and nods also feel kinda bad. Like everyone is just waiting till the person next to them has reacted and after that if the camera zooms on them they react too. It just feels off.

I think voices and mocap are less money issues and more to do with increased dev time necessitating that script is locked down early in the process and can't be altered. I might not be remembering it accurately but the official response is along those lines. They can do it sometimes for important scenes but it's not a priority to always do this.

I agree with you! They need to bring back a lot of things. I would like the original Capital City Themes brought back they were so cool and made FFXIV feel majestic. But idk maybe they cant? Maybe its all bound to contracts and agreements. They need to bring back the original skill names for Black Mage too, in the current original version of FFXIV Fire Fira and Firaga is what they have but for some reason the English localization is different and the game we are playing is directly translated from original game the Japanese FFXIV. People defend the weird translation with it being tied to LORE but if that is true why isn't that reflected in the Japanese FFXIV which is the original game? These decisions are just weird and unfortunate.

I thought it was funny/odd that when HW launched, suddenly all the GC leaders , etc had British accents all of a sudden. I guess they all went on holiday together.

Is there any good mmo that does this?
We're asking for a bit much..unless most are ok with 6 month wait for new updates

All of the translations are decided on by the three regional localization teams (JP, NA, and EU) at the same time, and all three teams work fairly closely with each other, so all languages can be considered the "original" game. There is no Japanese primacy. Considering the amount of lore stuff that comes from the NA guys first, you could easily make a case that the English versions are "correct" and the Japanese versions are "wrong."

You are completely wrong here. The main writer for FFXIV both ARR and Heavensward is Kazutoyo Maehiro and everything written prior ARR in 1.0 was written by Yaoko Sato. So this "collaboration" between all three major regions is completely absurd and inaccurate. What you call "Japanese Primacy" is completely real in FFXIV there is no Japanese localization of FFXIV because the original game is the Japanese FFXIV. That's why they call it an English localization because its translated from the original source. Ridiculous.
