All healers are pretty much overpowered, else solo-healing wasn't viable and cleric stance uptime small. That's only enabled by healers being completely overpowered for the given content.

A job is over or underpowered when compared to the other jobs within its role. Ast was garbage. Sch and Whm were both OP compared to it. They fixed it by making Ast the strongest healer.

No.

WHM and SCH weren't overpowered. They were stronger than AST but they weren't blatantly OP.

This makes no sense. They fixed nothing, they made things worse.

Here's how things actually are:

There are three jobs in the role and if two are of comparable power while the other isn't, the other is either OP or UP compared to them. The other two are not "overpowered" if the other is "underpowered" because they have similar power while the other job falls below their power. If one is stronger than the other two than that one is "overpowered" because it is above the power of the other two.

SCH has been blatantly OP for a long time, so stop pretending.

WHM is very powerful, but not OP due to their limited MP recovery and lack of utility, but we sure don't need anymore crying WHM whine threads. We have enough of those.

No. That is all.

Card randomness is what justifies the potencies. I think the cards will get nerfed if AST is given too much control over card choice.

I consider it fixed if all three healers can comfortably clear the hardest content. Keyword: Comfortably.

I have to disagree. The only time a healer was overpowered was at 2.0. Where Holy Potency was high enough to out dps a BLM. Where the stuns were stupidly obnoxious on top of superb ease of party healing which SCH extremely lacked at the time. (Was possible to party heal as a SCH, it definitely wasn't easy)

Since then it flipped the script where WHM's were complaining about overheal's going to waste while SCH overheal's are shields.

AST came into conception and it's use was bellow the standards of being an effective class. On top of it's cards being next to useless.

AST's buffs came and now they have the power to 0% to Max their MP while still healing. The Cards being overpowered are debatable because RNG still comes into play.



Honestly looking back at it, the complaints where always what the other jobs had. SCH's at the time whined about the lack of AOE heals. WHM's QQ'd about SCH's Mitigation. AST complained about being completely inferior to both healers. And now WHM wanting to do more outside of the realm of healing for boss raids.
