Other hint that has strangely worked for me : if I set max FPS to 1/4 (around 15FPS on my PC) I had an easier time to jump on the Ixal logging site.
I tried it for 2 hours on 60FPS; 100% failed.
I tried again at 15FPS, reach it easily 3 times straight.
Only one that's truly pissed me off so far is the leatherworking guild..it took me 50 minutes to make that jump..I wanted to burn it all down lol...
The original sightseeing log was a fustercluck. Thankfully in Heavensward it was much easier, and more fun to do. This whole time of day, weather non-since with the original I thought was awful because one person point of view of a majestic site is different from the others. What someone might think looks amazing during the day might look bland to another.
locking your fps to 30, using mounts and sprint make some of the "hard" ones really easy. The weather requirement is the biggest thorn for many of these
Do none of you use the FFXIV weather website? I would use it to know when to go to the sites early to prep and then just AFK until the conditions were right.

This made ARR sight seeing very easy. You can tick off what you have already done, see what's 'hard' and what emote to use. Even links to where you need to stand / go to achieve the log entry.
