Fish. Lots and lots of fish... (which is ironic as none of my maids are actually FSH ;P).
And parts of houses like roofs and walls - I'm starting to suspect they're hanging around construction sites and stealing building supplies....
Occasionally one of them brings back something rare like a Red Onion Helm or metallic dye (silver especially is the one I particularly want), but more often than not it's sealife or building materials....
Hides of one kind or another, generally generic over world monster hides at that. I miss the days when she wouldsteal/find housing items laying around now that I can use them

Lemons.

Always lemons.
I remember this one retainer would taunt me. When trying to clear T9 while it was still relevant, I got a white raven armor fragment. Later, when T13 was relevant, they brought me a burning auricle. >_> I changed them into a fisher and all they bring me now are fat cats. Seriously, I think I've handed out at least a hundred free fat cats out on Cactuar.
I seem to get fish most of the time.
Once in a while I'll get a random housing item, which is nice.
my fsh retainer, only brings me fish or water lilies (atleast I can sell these for a nice penny on diablos) when i send her out to get fat cats... my miner brings me almost nothing but fish, gloves, and boots. my archanist bring me back jewlery, pvp gear, furniture and on rare occasions something that makes no sense (seriously, how did you rip someone's fire place out of their wall?! or their piano?!). and my botan likes to bring me seeds, lots and lots of seeds, and none of them the valuable ones, if not seeds, oranges and lemons.
