Unwanted, unfortunate, and unheard community

To the OP I agree that they do seem to have some weird moderation on the forums. It does seem to be random. It is not just PvP though housing and other niche gameplay have had good general discussions and have been dumped into the backwaters of the forums while other threads have been allowed to reach a larger audience. The forums and SE since 1.0 have had very little transparency except in the aftermath of 1.0 for a while. Most Q&A stuff is generally fluff or misdirection.

Now for the feast situation. It is very clear that the rest of the game does not approve of certain type of limited rewards of certain items. They also don't like PvE assets used for PvP. People still complain about ADS mount. But you never see anyone complain about that boat. So it is very clear that armour is barely acceptable as limited reward (small amount of discontent on limiting glamours), furniture (no real complaints), and titles. Feast has been a black hole of discontent (politest I could come up with).

The OP makes a very good point in noting that when people complained about the minion reward, they were answered within days. Yet now, with regards to changing a vital component of a competitive gameplay mode, and players asking them to reconsider and even explaining why the idea would do more harm than good, we've heard absolutely nothing.

I think that's neither right, nor fair to people who enjoy PvP in this game, especially when those who see it as a positive change, generally do not PvP, and would not besides.

Blanket misconception aside, it's actually the community who made the assumption that it's a change being made due to negative player attitudes, or the ever popular "toxicity" buzzword. We have little else to go on, thanks to their silence on the matter, but if it is the truth behind the matter, then I ask where is the fix for players being toxic in an expert roulette or Ex trial?

To "fix" PvP and leave the much-larger PvE with the same issue untouched would very much be the textbook definition of a double standard. And again, it's not right, nor fair to those who enjoy PvP. No one likes feeling like their input just doesn't matter.

I haven't been on these forums a long time, but I'd like to know if there's a divide between JP/EU-US sides of the forum?

I would like to bring up how the East usually gets the golden treatment, but that's 100% based off of how other Asian made mmos treat their players.

Now more than ever, we need our small community to speak up. They tell us to communicate what we want or don't want on the forums, so let this be a proving grounds.

Disabling the text chat in favor of a preset command system is going to limit communication and frustrate players, if not completely turn them away from the Feast, AND NO REGULAR PVPER HAS ASKED FOR, OR WANTS THIS CHANGE. Please do not ignore us on this. Please reach out to us on this. What inspired this change? How can we possibly find a good compromise on the matter?

We, the PvP community is officially reaching out to you for answers. You answered upset minion collectors within days. Please offer us the same courtesy.

No regular pvper asked for this true but regular pvpers are the reason for this change tho. If we werent so toxic it wouldnt have happened comparing it to PvE is not a good comparison because you meet toxic behaviour for example in ex roulette less likely than in a feast match. Its a shame if all or atleast most of the regular pvpers in feast wouldnt be toxic we could have avoided this. Tbh I dont think anything big will change commands are probably enough.

I don't know how your experiences have been, but I would say very few people in PVP are vocally intolerant of anything they deem "not good enough". I've traditionally been a SMN in feast (let's not go there with how people think SMN should be played), but this season I'm starting very late and took up AST. I've only healed in FL with AST/WHM, so the pressure in the Feast is very different. Surely, some people were upset.

But there is a difference between asking me "Why did I die healer, I was next to you" and "Don't play healer if you don't know how to heal". One asks for me consider how I played, the other tells me to stop playing. Both make me feel "bad", because I don't want my teammates to die, but only one makes me pause and think about what I could have done better (usually, a mis-click or not anticipating the dmg, if it's my fault). If I'm CC'd and can't do anything (Purify on CD) other than ask for Purify, I let it roll off my back because I couldn't have done anything in that situation aside from consider how I could have changed my CD use. I think I've gotten a lot better in a short span of time, thanks to the input. But I think others would just get upset and not use the criticism to get better, because some people can't take any form of criticism and just shut down, or lash out. I don't think they should be catered to with the chat-ban.

And Thirdchild, your claim: "NO REGULAR PVPER HAS ASKED FOR, OR WANTS THINS CHANGE!!1" is based on ignorance for I am living proof. The opinions of pvpers on this chat removal thing is completely split in half if not more towards chat getting removed. And then the pve folks who are simply too afraid to take on the salt mountain, are really looking forward to being able to try feast out without fear. Alot of us completely disagree with your claim, believe it or not it is true. I wont discuss this subject any further with you as I have already done in the past, and nothing will change SE's decision regarding this matter, which is great. Crying cant always help. Not even if minions are to be collected.

What I actually hope for, is that some of the "regular pvpers who are toxic" (quoting from above statements im not saying there are any i dont need another ban), lose their interest in pvp/feast due to these much needed changes and make room for new, very welcome people.

All I care for in this game are my friends and the healthy continuous growth of feast, so that it can reach its prime. The toxicity of the chat is what is holding the growth of feast back, big time (my opinion). And I believe this is the main reason why the chat is being removed and SE sees this and is taking radical action.

Playing on chaos and aether dc I experienced that the ones who stick with pvp aka the regulars are the toxic and they are far away from just few. In the other thread about "disable feast chat" I could give u some examples of toxic player they are by no means bad and play regular pvp still are toxic some of those helpful ppl who write guides got already bans in the past cause they were toxic in feast . Its hard for new players I can tell you I saw some "new" players who were improving by the time and still got hated by the community either party chat/twitch chat or voice chat. Make smth stupid and you are a meme in the eyes of the pvp community. This is the truth atleast for these two datacentres (idk about primal). There were some players for example a platinum healer who is imo not even that great flaming our dps before the gate opens and types more than playing then they rage about the dps leaving. I wont even deny that Im sometimes toxic and make fun about others with other players its definitely more than simply a "few". Just check the other thread several regulars on the first page are toxic too its common af

First, 40+ thumbs up on the first post to not remove chat, and like 10(?) on the post to not remove it isn't split. It also sounds like you'd have more fun in 8v8 than a ranked game mode. Custom games also exist, where you can just play with your friends. In WoW, when they removed chat from arenas people would just send nasty tells to people after the match. Ask SE to make unranked 4v4 like they were supposed to, ranked is supposed to be serious and stressful even without chat. People not taking it seriously at the moment are the problem, and that isn't their fault. So I agree with you there, you should have a place to have fun, I just don't think that place should be a ranked game type. It is SE fault for not giving them an unranked alternative, or making custom games have a cross server system.

Being treated as secondary for being the minority doesn't mean someone shouldn't be heared. Saying it's okay to treat minorities poorly is like calling slavery ok. I read your points, agree to some, and disagree with others. I crafted a reply to get more of your input. Even though I believe you are a minority here I am valuing your opinion and responding to it. This is all that has to happen for me to be personally satisfied with SE.
