1. Just run through it.
2. A mix between jumping and running.
3. Have yet to do this DG, but if teleport is an option, I'd take it.
4. Run.
5. Always drop if I can.
6. Usually just use auto translate to greet and say goodbye.
7. Depends, if I've never done the DG before I may be the one to cause a wipe from not doing a mechanic correctly or I'll be a casualty.
8. I usually do the Manderville.
-
1. Just walk through in this game.
2. I'm a tank, if I'm not already pulling the next group by time the last body hits the floor everyone's mad at me for being so slow and wasting their time.
3. I'm left handed so anytime I have an option I'll go left.
4. Walk.
5. Always take the path, not a fan of hurting my character just cause it's quicker.
6. I ask what size of pulls people want, everyone says they don't care which means they want large but don't want to be blamed if there's a wipe and are leaving it up to me since then they can just blame the tank. Other then that anything else just comes off as begging for a comm at the end.
7. Rarely the true problem, but as a tank I'm always the one at fault, if you know what I mean.
-
1. When you approach a zone line, do you try to hop over it or just go through it?
I guess I usually hop over it, but not always, sometimes I'll just walk through.
2. Between pulls in a dungeon do you jump, prep buffs for the next pull, both, anything else?
I'm a tank, so I'll glance to make sure the party is ready/nobody has an emergency they need to wait for, then pull. I'll also top off buffs that may have dropped if I'm not MT in something like a 24-man raid.
3. If/When/The last time you did/do Syrcus Tower, before and/or after the first trash pack, did/do you take the left staircase or the right? (Or impatiently spam-click the teleporter because screw walking.)
It doesn't matter to me, I'll take either staircase.
4. On a related note, for Labyrinth and Syrcus Tower, do you walk/run to the first trash pack or do you use the teleporter?
I walk to it, never even considered waiting for the teleporter.
5. When you have to go to an area that's set below you in ARR zones (Camp Drybone, Witchdrop, 789th Order Dig, etc.), do you take the "intended" exit/entrance ramp or just drop down?
I don't particularly like throwing my character from high places, so I'll usually either take the intended path, or gradually sort of hop down if that's an option, so I don't take any damage.
6. In dungeons, are you chatty, just say hello and goodbye/good game, do you not say anything, or do you wait until something goes wrong to speak up?
I hate roulettes, so I won't really speak unless spoken to if I'm in one of those. If it's something like PotD and my party is friendly, I'm happy to chat with them, made some friends that way. I'll also offer to give advice if I see a new player message in a dungeon I know well and they want the help.
7. In a wipe, are you likely to be the person that caused it, the last man standing, a casualty of the wipe-causing mechanic, the person that tries to salvage the fight, or do you see the inevitable and give up early?
I'm probably the last man standing a good 99% of the time that there's a wipe mechanic, and I'm actually pretty good at salvaging fights even when it's only me left. I really hate to die, especially if the thing is on the last 10%.
-
1. Depends if I'm auto walking or not.
2. Also depends. If my friends are jumping around I'll jump too for extra hype.
3. I take the left
4. I forget there is even a teleporter when I'm in there
5. drop it like it's hot
6. I usually just say hello and gg but I try to talk to people if it feels like they'd respond to things I'm saying (they usually don't)
7. Usually the last man standing and get this huge pressure of "KILL IT!" because it's at 1% but i'm a lowly squishy blm.
-
1. Hop~
2. Between pulls in a dungeon do you jump, prep buffs for the next pull, both, anything else? Uhm... both xD. and if i'm running with a freind i'll /slap once for good luck!
3. whichever is closer (never teleporter)
4. run~
5. intended path... depended on why im there. if there's an S rank i'm falling off evrything
6. personally im not a fan of overly chatty people in pugs. So I try to keep it to greetings.
7. Depends on what it is and how many times I ran it. But I guess i'm the nerd who gets lazered one hit bc i didnt know where to go on my first run. Others im last man.
ADDITIONAL: 1) I'm always standing on the far right pillar in idleshire. 2) I adjust my camera just a bit to peek at another character if they have pretty glam/characters.... xD
-
1. When you approach a zone line
I rush as if that can help loading faster.
2. Between pulls in a dungeon
Try to cast thunder.
3. If/When/The last time you did/do Syrcus Tower...
Never joined that raid.
4. On a related note, for Labyrinth and Syrcus Tower...
Pass...
5. When you have to go to an area that's set below you in ARR zones
Jump and listen to the sound as if my ass aches.
6. In dungeons
Only say Hi when lazy, say nothing all the way when lazy and tired, talk a little if I feel the conversation won't go confusing.
7. In a wipe
BLM is not a good alternative to tank. However I can try to cast sleep upon the mobs. Sometimes I die before casting. Sometimes I succeed, then LB and we survive. Most of the time, I just sleep the enemies, tank or another DPS immediately lays an AOE to knock them awake...we wipe, I weep.

1. Not really, mostly because I tend to teleport most of the time, but I don't recall jumping over a line.
2. I'm pretty sure I don't jump, but if I do it's random. I do jump during pulling so I can throw my axe behind me.
3. I usually run all the way so I don't think I ever did that.
4. I always do the trash pack. Got nothing better to do anyway.
5. I'm not sure about this, but I'm positive that I just drop down. Again, I mostly teleport.
6. If they talk, I'll talk, if they don't, I won't.
7. I'm usually the last man standing, alongside being the one who tries to salvage the fight. In addition I don't give up due to the fact that I already have nothing else to do, so it seems meaningless to give up.
-
1. Frontflip for style.
2. See above.
3. Left because why not?
4. I'm usually one of the first to arrive.
5. Jump down.
6. I always introduce myself and go from there. If the party's chatty than so am I.
7. Never give up. Never surrender.
And I always do weird stuff during Diamonds Dust.
-
1. I never really got into the bunny hop thing but as for zone lines, usually just run through unless I get the random urge to jump over.
2. Depends on the role I'm currently in but that's usually DPS so there's not much to prep unless I'm on mnk in which case Form Shift to get myself ready for the next group!
3. Left staircase.
4. Only ever use teleporters after a wipe or if I join an in-progress.
5. Completely depends on my mood. I'm more likely to jump down if I'm on a mount that seems like it could actually make the fall unscathed.
6. Usually just the normal "Hey folks" and "take care" or "nice working with ya!" but if the group is chatty or seems open to talking, I try to fill in the silence between pulls.
7. I like to think it's because I played FFXI for so many years and learned to see how a fight is turning moment by moment so I'm able to react fast enough to salvage a pull that's going south or a boss fight that will come down to the last 1%.
I often find myself stance dancing (healer, dps, tank) to maximize survivability or to ease burdens on other roles etc. This game is a lot more punishing though and less flexible in letting roles cross over into other positions so more often than not even with all the best reactions it'll be a wipe anyway. But man is it sweet seeing the dust settle after the last mob or boss drops with you on the brink of death !

Thanks for the responses and feedback, guys and gals! Since someone asked about mine, I'll oblige. ALSO I DID ADD ONE I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT. D=
1. As someone that's a Mega Man fan, I can't resist jumping over zone lines.
2. Most of the time I'm spamming jump. And probably annoying people. I just can't be still most of the time. Of course if I'm running heals I'll make sure to refresh buffs when I can.
3. This question is actually the originator of the idea for this thread. Depending on my mood, I'll teleport or take the left staircase. After the trash pack is done though, I've recently made it a point to take the right staircase. I'm surprisingly one of few that do so in most groups.
4. Again, this is dependent on my mood. If I feel like goofing off I'll spam-click the teleporter. If I see that people are actually kind of friendly at the beginning, I'll be polite and appropriate and run to the first pack.
5. I drop down every time. I tend to forget there's even a ramp in some of these areas.
6. Generally speaking, I try to be friendly enough to say hello at least, and since I'm shy I really don't speak up unless I feel like I can either help or if I feel comfortable enough to talk.
7. Depending on the content, 90% of the time I'm usually the last man standing and I'm usually pushing myself as hard as I can to do my part to salvage things. Then there's that 10% of the time that I've messed up and died BEFORE the wipe happens.
8. I dance. That's one thing I can't get enough of in this game is the variety of dance emotes you can get. I admit though when I get frozen in Shiva I'm horrible about getting the timing down and never get an emote off.
