OMG THANK GOD LOL!

Can I just say how much I LOVE the two NPCs giving out the Singing Clusters? They've been shown in teaser images for the Anima questline for a while now, but finally seeing them, they're so tiny! They're just so adorable and creepy and I love them!
It's like SE took the joke people came up with of Khloe liking gorey stories and just played it straight to the hilt. And suddenly we have three little girls running around Idyllshire who love tales of murder and mayhem. Four if you take Khloe's word that Pinky likes her retellings of your exploits.
No please. I'll take time locked ease over high amounts of items (crystals from FATEs or atma), high grind fest (anima books, light- I didn't think the sand was too bad though), or gil sink (materia melding, HQ items, etc). If all the steps where like this, people like my husband, who works 60 hours a week and pretty much plays the game casually (time wise) could actually do a relic.
I always found relic to be counter productive. Easy to do- if you have the time to sink in to it. Not every "casual" has the luxury of a time sink like relic. I like this regulated time sink and I hope SE considers this to be more of a norm for future relics.
Yup, you should definitely be worried. Previous upgrades seem to follow the pattern: an easy grind to match tomestone weapons, followed by an agonizing grind to surpass them and (almost) match raid weapons. The 3.5 anima step is going to be hellish. Or, possibly, the 3.5 anima step will actually be TWO moderately bad grinds, one to reach 270, and the other to match the raid weapons at 275. At least, in ARR, the relics eventually reached the same ilvl as the Raid weapons, and I'm guessing the same will be true here.
I hate to break it to you, but relic weapons are not, and never have been, intended for casual players, and not once have the devs claimed that they were intended to be. The grinds involved are far more than anyone who calls themselves casual can consider doing, and I don't think that's likely to change.
No, the casual endgame weapons in this game are, and always have been, the Tomestone weapons. The two other endgame weapons, relic and raid, are both intended for non-casual players - just by different flavors of non-casual.
How is grinding cash any less legitimate than grinding tomestones, or grinding dungeons, or whatever else it is you have to grind? It's all a time sink, in the end. Heck, I'd wager that even at their most expensive, grinding out enough gil to pay for crafted items was STILL less time consuming than, say, grinding out Alexandrite for the ARR weapon.
Can I do this on a class I am leveling? I'm not looking forward to next step, lol. I'm glad I can finish my main AST and sub blm relics before XV comes out though. Thanks, SE!
I dont suppose they reduced the cost of the Umbrite?
