not even bro, I kinda like my fast dungeon runs and competent healers. The better solution is having the DPS git gud via parsers or whatever

Uhm...no.
Healing isn't engaging enough on its own and way too powerful - you'd be twiddling your thumbs more often than not.
You can't fix that issue without a complete rework of the healers. You can nerf them, sure, then they'd have to keep healing, but the issue there is that healing has not enough complexity and people would get bored quickly - it would be like playing a black mage perpetually stuck at level 25. Much fun. You'd have to give healing some systems for mastery first - stance dancing is the only thing they currently have, even overheal/mana efficiency matters very little.
If you remove Cleric stance it makes healing a extremely boring job and I absolutely mean boring job. I don't know anyone who would want to spam 2-3 buttons every 2-3 minutes. In fact you can probably get away with just spamming physick / cure if the tank is good with his CDs. How shitty of a role is that?
I'm impartial either way.
Just be aware that while the whole "Healer DPS" debate would be slammed shut and buried 10 feet underground instantly with a change that is being proposed, actually being able to implement said change would be more difficult. S-E would need to take the time to rebalance the healing intensity requirements and re-tool the kits to suit. This game cannot support constant heal GCD after heal GCD with the current implementation (both in the fact that constant healing is unnecessary and the fact that no healer would have the MP pool to support that sort of play).
Honestly I think they should remove the Intelligence stat and make Mind increase damage of magic as well.
It is pointless to divide everything. You either are able to do both or you are not. You either have healing spells and so should be competent in using them or you do not.
There is no reason for a Cleric Stance to exist, the jobs should be competent in using their own tools 100% of the time.
That aside, Healers will have nothing to do in early dungeons without Cleric Stance. No need to heal, bad dps, they will just quit the job.
How about we encourage the rest of the Healers to get good? The second Healers lose the ability to DPS is the second I drop the game. Healing in this game without Cleric Stance is the most shallow and shitty idea to ever exist. I don't want to have Netflix running while I wait for everyone else to finish up killing the mobs.
I wish this topic wasn't such an issue, Cleric stance keeps me busy and helps with the overall dps. I usually gauge how good a run is by how often I can dps. Good run is me whm getting all aero I.II.III (not in that order) up then if all going well stone II III or holy to help out. I'm bored to tears when I have to heal only in roulette. I Do get its stressful for a lot of people to stance dance as the healer but with practice its very rewarding. Healer dps isn't hurting overall game style but lower it I think would. If the issue is people are complaining healer is not dpsing enough few things could be going such as not really familiar with the dungeon, my fave everyone stand the ground aoe, and more time healing less dps. Hell I recall for brief moment few years ago when people didn't want the healer to dps cause it was considered a waste of mp.
Be careful what you cry for, it happened in pvp and it can very well happen now. They already told tanks where they can take their dps, I
m just saying OP, is it really worth losing?
Stance dancing isn't hard. Yes it's intimidating at first but if you just try when you feel comfortable you'll get used to it. Healing isn't engaging enough to take away Cleric, my party would die because I fell asleep of boredom in all the downtime.
DPS issues are DPS issues square needs to just let people parse, as a ps4 player I wish I could at least parse myself. Since DPS can't be easily notified when they are bad they don't know and leads to people playing DPS classes and just not caring if they are good or knowing how good they could be.
Not saying everyone should be awesome but some basic skills help a lot
Tanks: use def cd's on pulls
DPS: use dmg buffs
Heals: dps when you can
if your rotation is off or you stay cautious with CS that's fine but a little effort makes a really big difference and is much appreaciated.
