Exploration mats added to Diadem?

I'm okay with stuff like outdoor fixtures, and to a lesser extent furnishings in general, but it is patently ridiculous that you need Airship Exploration mats just to craft Orchestrion Rolls.

Well thats why I said older mats and not all mats. What I mean the newest mats and such will still be gated to Airships at 1st, but then added to daidem later on when even newer stuff becomes available for airship exploration, it'll work like everything else in this game, old stuff easier, newest stuff difficult...raids, tomestone, blah blah... Rather have it this way than Devs straight nerfing airships later on or something, at least these mats will still be gated to something, just to Diadem instead, they can also make them expensive with spoils...

I would have nothing against this if its older mats. If they take the ones that are around two patches old that gives the FC with their airship around 6 months time to make Gil out of it. I believe that this is more than enough for the work that is put in this. And not every FC has a house and thus has no way to even get airships..so it would hurt less for them if they could get them later from the Diadem..

In the end this would be just like all other items in this game. At the beginning its rare and you will get lots of gil for it thus even if its just one patch, it should be enough. And after that others can get it easier. Since you will probably get new exclusive items in at least some patches if not every patch this should be way enough to be a reward for the ships. (And as someone with four Airships in their FC: the amount of work to run them once you have them set up is really not that much..the most work was done creating those and it should have paid back already with all the items..especially things like the music scroll.)

Let me guess, the ones who are against it have FCs with access to airships &/or make gil from selling the mats to those unfortunate enough to not have access. Great to see parity in the game.

I agree, there's not enough gated content in this game making intrinsic value or worth of things very insignificant. Free companies should have their restrictive benefits, join(a respective one) or get left out in my opinion.

Not all FCs give every member access to the returns from missions though. Similarly, most FCs only have a limited number of people assigned to airship use, possibly restricting it to a single person. I have seen the returns from missions where huge amounts of crafting & gathering materia were gained but I have to spiritbond my own, or buy it (luckily it's also from beast tribes now).

Nobody is asking for the mats to drop from the sky, they were asking for them to be from Diadem steel spoils, which aren't easy to get anyway.

again, join a FC they will let you use it or one that wont lock it out. Get to know ppl and don't be one of them ppl that QQ about something but never get involved with other players.
