Those weren't his only criteria. He also said PC search and AH-MW hybrid. This is coming in 1.20. He said these are the key features that would put the game inside the market, because they're basic to MMOs. As I've said before, I would've started paying after 1.18, since it was a complete gamechanger for me. People are struggling to find petty things to bitch about in the forums in order to claim that the game is unplayable, which is a flat-out lie.

PS: A while after it goes live, we'll start paying. It's not automatically on 1.20.

Do you even understand what people are saying? This is precisely the point why it's worth it. You get to experience something others will never have the chance to. Are you really that blind?

I would of started paying at 1.19 aswell, now I am not sure I want to. I am a completionist. What if I am not able to tackle everything before 2.0 OH WELL its gone heres your new game...

You be real- the only thing our subs will fund is the localization teams' + GM salary and the server upkeep.

2.0 is getting funded out of SE's secret stash of booty.

So... because you're a completionist... you aren't willing to pay to play the content that'll only be available to people who choose to keep playing during 1.20-2.0, an otherwise perhaps tactically suboptimal choice for a lot of players.

But seriously OP, you say nothing promised is coming until 2.0 when in reality, it's the opposite. The AH/MW hybrid system comes in 1.20 along with class balancing, the job system comes in 1.21, and the list goes on.

Of course, you would know that if you actually read any part of the roadmap.

Do you really believe our subscriptions are going to be in a large enough number to fund a project like XIV 2.0? Absolutely not. It's only going to pay for everything Betel said.

uhm what do you think costs more? new engine etc or localizing and server upkeep, which by the way 2.0 will be getting even more localization than any of these patches ITS A WHOLE NEW WORLD

There would be no sense in them charging if that was the way it is going to work, which it isn't. Please, take some time to go over the .pdfs or call YoshiP on his cell phone again and try to understand japanese a bit better.

THAT'S THE POINT. If GMs, server upkeep, etc cost x amount of dollars, and the development of 2.0 will cost 1000x (a thousand times x), and our subs amount to ~x, then.... dur, you're basically just paying for the basic stuff.
