All these complaints and hate towards healer, how come no-one complaints about the dps that does 80-100k total dmg the whole match. Where is the topic on that?
Kinda agree with Tia's logic. Was on team against Lion (scariest mnk Ive faced on primal easily). Me (silver) and 2 bronze (healer included) vs him and 3 no ranks. He pretty much proceeds to solo the team, healer and all.
I dunno...maybe its just like walking a tightrope 4 stories up when dealing with a new healer vs a stronger one. Just dont look down at the ground/healer and focus on your own role. May help some at least.
Made a thread about this before, I personally do believe that the healer role is way too weighty compared to other roles. I experience the results of this setup daily. It is just too important, a new healer is by far a worse thing than a new dps or a new tank. This is my personal statement based on my experience on Chaos Feast.
Edit: Also a good healer can carry better than a good tank or good dps. Even the rankings have always proven this, healing is overpowered. Please prove me wrong!
Edit2: It might be that the reason why I experience it to be this way more than some folks, is cause I always play warrior, and the worst situation for me is another gold healer with unranked team versus my unranked team with me as gold tank. 1 gold tank versus 1 gold healer among unrankeds is when this flaw in the balance shows itself the most.
Vaeria just gave an example. a higher rank healer vs a unrank healer doesn't mean a victory to the team with the more experience healer. The determining factor was the platinum dps.
So there was a silver healer in your team and bronze healer in his team?
That's not the healer inbalance most people mean here, try it with unranked vs gold healer (or even higher). ,)
No matter how good the MNK would be I have experienced a healer who healed only himself and was constantly out of our line of sight (not because of our mistake). If the MNK would be getting 0 heals it wouldn't matter how good he would be. WAR would finish him solo if necessary.
I can deal with unbalanced tank or dps ranks but healers should be always balanced even if it meant 1 hour long waits. If your opinion is that healer doesn't have bigger impact than tank or DPS on the match then be it, but my opinion is the opposite.
