You know, I often wonder if there's any Lore involved on why Ninja's can jump a bajillion feet from the sky to the ground, but if a Dragoon so much stubs its toe when it leaps off a cliff, it is facing death's door.
Anonymoose? Can someone dust him off and show him this thread please?
It's not like you have multiple stuns as DRG...
Oh wait, you do. >.>
I'm not gonna lie, this question has always been a curiosity of mine as well. Dragoon's signature move is their ability to jump dramatic distances. It's featured in various cutscenes and is built into the lore of them snagging dragons. It was also incorporated into the story when they send Estinien to go gather stuff out of trees because he'd have the easiest time leaping among the branches; yet, despite this, Nin's get the passive fall dmg trait ... I don't have a nin at max level, but is there an actual reason for this in their lore? Cuz' from where I'm sitting it doesn't seem to make sense ...
Well there's a difference between jumping and falling.
It's the art of self-protection while landing. Like in Judo, they train themselves how to land on the ground.
Dragoons are trained to fight flying dragons and when they jump, they supposed to land on a dragon, not falling to the ground.
Back sorry, and no, Im not trolling. Theres just too much OP stuffs in pvp and stuff ; ; Like for example..blm sleep lasts 45 sec...it should be lowered to maybe 30 at most. Plds really do have too much def (it takes sooo much time to kill one, its soo hard ; ;) But most of all, nin needs to be fixed. A skilled nin's burst is too strong, + they have like a LOT of ranged attacks...and, and stuff.
I think it's just because Ninja came after the other existing jobs and SE was scrambling to make unique traits for it. I don't think there was any mentality of "Ninjas land better than Dragoons", it's just because Dragoon and its traits already existed when Ninja was introduced. SE probably just thought "hey, Ninjas are stealthy, they can probably land safely like a cat, right?". Let's give them that special trait.
