Agreed that rather than remove VA, it should be made less anonymous or put on a timer. It's useful in situations where the party comp simply cannot overcome the content.
The whole point of it being anonymous is so that people can't be heckled or kicked simply because they use the system to suggest abandoning the Duty. If they showed the person who initiated it then they might as well show who is voting for the kick and who is not while they're at it.
In terms of a timer, I've never seen someone actually do Vote Abandons back to back, they normally do it 5-8 minutes apart and after every wipe/pull if the party is having major problems.
A kick being anonymous makes perfect sense because that will inevitably cause tension between the person who initiated it and the target/their friends regardless of whether it succeeds or not.
A vote to abandon affects the entire party and if you do not feel confident enough that it is a justified suggestion then you should not be doing it in the first place. If you have the audacity to force people out of a run who did not want to give up after one or two wipes then you should at least have the integrity to own your decision. Right now, people are free to cower behind the anonymous vote because they know they cannot be directly challenged or questioned about it.
