I currently use the Bow of the Heavens from Thordan EX because it matches the color scheme of the Weeping City BRD top. For PLD, I got the Horde Sword/Shield. I actually use the Horde shield instead of my padjali one because of the stats, while I've glamoured the sword over the PotD one to match.

I'd try on all the different weapons on the MB. If any of them really inspire you, then farms the mats, have a crafter friend make you one (if you can't make it yourself), and glam your outfit to match it. Also, if you see someone running around with a weapon that you think looks really cool, try it on! If you like it, glam your weapon to that and base an outfit on it.
I tend to make my glams based on my weapons, but you can also make an outfit then find a weapon glam that goes with your clothes. Glams are one of the few things we can actually customize in this game.
Have fun with your glams, and if you don't have an unlimited supply of gil, take your time picking out a complete outfit until you are sure you are going to be really happy with it. (No one is going to kick you for having a PotD glow stick weapon.) -

I like the PotD axe because it's pink and my WAR glamour is also very pink.
