That's a good video, I just fail to see how it's much of a "How-to" video. It's a video of a successful run sure but nothing is really explained. You can see things happening in the video but there's no explanation as to when or why. You can infer some information if you're looking close enough at it, but without proper explanation some of the info isn't quite that useful.

Breaking horns lowers his regen and does not have to do with this drop rate.

You only need to break horns if you're not in a optimal set up. If you have all LNC DD. There is no reason to break horns, really. Average time even without horns is 5-6 minutes.

Marauders can DPS at max range without receiving any damage from the fire aura. Harder to find the sweet spot than LNC, but it is there. Also I have got 2 drops back to back while breaking no horns at all, to me the horns breaking increasing drop rate is pure myth ala face west in firesday

Yay, I'm glad someone else knows this. I'm shocked at the misinformation about MRD attack range. Just goes to show that some groups havent tried anything outside of the 4-6LNC setup.

I have never tried ifrit on hard yet, I have a question: as a marauder, if I want to tank, do I need to level gld high enough to get obsess and conjurer high enough to get cure III?

And if so, anything else?

Accomplice, Sentinel, Featherfoot II are some very helpful skills. I dont really think Cure III is needed.

cure 3 will wipe you mp fast, cure 2's should be good enough to give you the boost you need. also im assuming you have second wind 2 as its more useful then any cure spell.
