I want to say something when I read above, you know when FFXI released, MAX LV was 50, then 55 then 60...etc
I feel your FF14 situation is something like when you challenging FF11 lvl75 quest, someone telling you "I have done all Lv50 and I'm done..." ^^;

Anyway, I hope I have stopped playing pre HW like you. This game just made me playing more and more time everyday. ^^;

because the gameplay of the classes from 50-60 doesnt change. The only class that completely remains the same is monk

This is just a personal note from a player that started the game only this december/january.
For me op as i first started the game having come from other mmos i found the beginning very boring. a lot of quests are go and fetch this, very repetitive, very old fashioned old school. But as you starting going through heavensward more content opens up, classes do play differently, the world is even more gorgeous. (Heavensward is beautifulllll with the possibility of flying). The number of trials/dungeons/raids that you have at your disposil when you reach level 60 is actually impressive with many rewards that you can get (mainly glamour and mounts although envolving Grinding).
This is me trying to say that if FFXIV was only the vanilla and i played it today i would consider it a "meh" mmo. Ffxiv with everything it offers today, with little treasures like the hidibrand questline, ......, with constant every so months patches (its quality/quantity is debatable i dont wont to go there) im my eyes is actually one of the best mmorpgs that i could play today. Again just a personal opinion from a somewhat casual player (2hrs per day more or less having played other mmos like wow, swtor, star trek, bdo, eso ...)

You sound burnt out. Maybe pick one class, burn through HW content, do a few things at end game then take a break until 4.0 comes out. Then start fresh and new there. Just a suggestion, but breaks usually help me with whatever MMO I'm currently playing. I MMO bounce quite a bit, and considering my other favorites are F2P it makes it easy to take a break.
