Do you play as your most efficient job or your most fun to play?

I enjoy ninja, and coincidentally it's my best job

Having played ninja for a while now all other classes seem slow and rubbish. :p

I am playing as what i have the most fun with which is atm BLM mainly with DRK and MCH on the side :)

I "mained" Monk all through first and second coil, SCH for Final Coil (discovered I REALLY enjoy healing), Monk was my first Job to get to 60 for heavensward, geared it up got my 240 relic, but now I miss my SCH so I'm currently on the 240 step for that too lol .
I don't raid anymore but I always use my Monk or SCH for ex primals. I also enjoy doing dungeons on my Summoner or Black Mage xD

My first loves and my favourites will always be Monk and Scholar and subsequently i've spent the most time learning the ins and outs of them and I perform the best with them.

Though I'm not sure what you mean by most efficient, I'd have to say that the jobs I have the highest outputs with are usually also the ones I consider most fun, hence my gearing them to end up the highest output among my jobs (all 60). Which between those (Bard, Ninja, and Monk at the top) just depends on mood, and whether there's any use for the Bard's songs. I've gone back and forth between maining or co-maining Bard and Monk from 1.2 to 3.1, and spent a short time maining Ninja around 3.1 before having to Bard again, and then fading out from raiding entirely and taking up all three (with all but SMN still within 10 ilvl of those 3).

I was always a healer main, and currently my AST is my highest iLVL, but I have been having an in and out affair with Summoner since the start of 2.0. The utility is something else! I'm gearing it now, and am almost caught up.

Funnily, I'm actually working on Ninja, but I only just unlocked the job (but I have a bunch of level 60 scouting gear, lol). I also played BLM to 60 in POTD, adored it, and am cursing every time I want to work on BLM since I can't stand Archer but am still 17 levels away from Quelling Strikes.

For the most part..."most efficient job" and "most fun job" are the same for me. But, it does depend on the content I'm running.

Example, I main WAR; raid on it, run dungeons on it, do open-world stuff on it (unless someone else really wants to tank). I love the job. But I *hate* PvPing as WAR. Instead, I PvP as BRD mostly, and enjoy it a lot.

On the other hand, I do a lot of casual stuff on WHM as well; Holy spam in dungeons is just too easy.

Only if someone in my static (when I get into one) asked me to play a specific job they know I'm better at because we need the help. Otherwise, I'll play whatever I find fun and work on improving. Good thing is I currently main DRG and MNK, which I find the most fun. So... it all works out. :D

I have the most fun as WHM and I feel I play most efficiently as WHM. So, that's what I usually play.

I have gotten BLM and SMN up to 60, but I have conflicted feelings about both.
I think I can play Black Mage very efficiently. BUT, it is a little boring for me to play.
I am decent at Summoner, but, to be honest, I haven't done enough dungeons with SMN to be good at it. I usually don't play SMN in dungeons because I don't want to slow everyone down. BUT, I really enjoy summoner.

Now I am leveling Ninja. I am trying to memorize the rotations and how to best maximize DPS and when to use what skills.
I want to have a DPS job that I both enjoy and am confident in. I hope ninja can be that job, but to be honest, I never play DPS jobs in MMORPGs, so I'm still not used to it.
But I want to get better.

Fun & efficient....for important content I tank bc it's my main but for anything else pretty much I use whatever I feel like but usually it's the efficient classes. Any healer I find efficient, for tank I usuallly avoid PLD for dungeons, for dps I almost always uss something that kills quickly in dungeons, such as BLM, SMN, MNK & I avoid ranged & NIN bc they're far weaker overall. And DRG can be the biggest pain ever so I rarely use it, especially for dungeons.

Really every class is fun in its own way but it's most satisfying using MNK or BLM bc the insane damage output.
