Those people deserve to be congratulated for such will power to do that grind, but fact of the matter is is this is some regular event stretched over the span of a bit over two months, by the end of it hopefully most people who want to get it will have it.

I don't know if anyone wants to take a few hours of each day (Again, like, 7 hours for one of the final 3 weapons means 21 hours total) to grind fates for it though. Some folks rather just get it done, and I've seen plenty of folks say that the grind just isn't worth it period.

I'm not saying just give me the rewards of the silver platter, keep in mind a bare minimum of 237 fates just about doubles what I've already got in FATEs I've done just playing the regular game. To the casual player I'm sure that's enough annoying FATE grinding, I don't quite get why that's not enough for you.

It seems like you've already outlined most of the reasons why this is the way it is.

The game has a history of making things long and tedious and annoying. Zeta weapon? Anima weapon?
237 FATES is not very much. FATES spawn relatively fast and, in a group, can be completed in a minute or less, especially FATES with a single boss. I'm sure in 1 hour you can complete 30+ FATES in some areas.
If you did FATES for just 1 hour every day in a group, you could complete 900 in a month.

Just 1 hour a day in a group. It's fairly reasonable for most casual players who want every weapon.
Many people will do it for much more than 1 hour a day.

We have to think about what is reasonable compared to the request.
If the request is to get every single weapon and the special mount, then doing FATES 1 hour every day in a group over 2 months sounds very reasonable to me. The effort must match the reward.

You said "stretched over the span of a bit over two months, by the end of it hopefully most people who want to get it will have it." So, if it is attainable after 2 months, why should it be changed?
Why do we need instant gratification instead of making a concerted effort over time?

This isn't the type of event that people are supposed to "just get done". It takes time. It takes effort.

But this event is not just about "playing the regular game". It's a special event that requires extra time and effort.
There is no reason to give instant gratification to every casual player.
Then the event loses meaning.

I don't know about in other servers, but in ours there may be 20+ groups in Party Finder at any time recruiting people to run through FATES as groups. I see them in zones and they just plow through FATES with lightning speed.

I think one of the purposes of the event is to work together to get the weapons. I don't think every single weapon and the "special mount" is meant to be attainable by every player.

I'm not trying to make the reply sound rude. I am sorry if it sounds that way. Just trying to rationalize why the event is the way it is and why it probably won't be changed.
It just seems to me like many posts are about "This is not convenient for me. Here is why. Please change it."

But many people are doing the event without any trouble.

They are not going to make this easier.

This is content that supposed to distract players for 2 months. Super dedicated players can do it in a few days, but more casual players can probably get it done in that time. Personally, I'm using it to level my MCH in between dailies. Got 4 weapons so far.

I don't get why it's an issue making it easier. Do you get irritated when you see folks running around with High Allagan armor or Replica Dreadwyrm stuff because it took folks so much time and effort when now it's much easier to get?

I have less of an issue with things taking ad infinitum if it wasn't suppose to be a fun crossover event for two months only. I'm not apart of any FC at the moment and even then, I don't think most people want to spend time running around doing FATEs. I have never mentioned "Instant Gratification" in any sort of a context, this is why I specifically asked for folks to drop the "Everyone but me is entitled" mindset as it sets things off into a bad direction that's either meaningless to talk about or just plain wrong. I don't see why 222 fates bare minimum is considered "Instant Gratification" when at level 60 I've done just about that much over the span of several years. Grinding the FATEs would still take plenty of time and is hardly "Instant", you'd just make it less of a pain in the butt.

All I'm saying is it's not really a ~*~Super Special Rare Item~*~ if anyone can get it over time, but it's also not something that's particularly enjoyable to get. It's just an annoying pain in the butt. I get difficulty, grinding 222 fates should be difficult on its own, I don't get why that's not difficult enough for some folks or the dev team. Seriously, it's either "This is some super duper special item that only the most dedicated players get, so no thanks" or "It's not hard, just get a group and shut up",

That is very true, and I have seen things change in this game due to customer reaction, but this event is a very temporary thing. They probably thought about it long and hard, and decided they just needed something to fill in the time till 3.4. I guess in their eyes, this was the most effective option with the tools they had.

Maybe they are thinking people will happily deal with that, but with all the heavy RNG content they've put in it seems to be a weird decision.

I wouldn't mind the grind if the rewards matched the effort required, but as it stands they really don't so I'll just not do it. No point in complaining about a grind for something I don't care for, right? :p

This so much this.. Normally I try to do all events for completion sake. Wasn't too interested at first because I've never heard of yokai before, but the inclusion of fate grinding in a seasonal/promotional event that was supposed to be fun with cute little minions killed it for me. Off topic do the minions themselves need fates or is that just weapons?

Edit #2 and edit button on the mobile site would be nice.
