The 60 mins limit if fine. There is far enough time to finish any stage even without a tank/heal/dd/dd party.
A lot of time is wasted killing monsters when not needed.

Rather than increasing the time limit I'd rather progress be saved every 5 levels. An hour in there is already not very fun... an hour in there only to fail and have to start over is down right mean.
I think everyone gets the point that you don't need an optimal party or even a party at all. I believe the issue is that there are times when it's pure luck whether you can keep going. For example, stepping on a trap that pacifies you for 30 seconds, a mimic casting pox on you, or treasure coffers that blow up. If you're in as a DD you'll not only have to wait to regain hp but many times you'll be stuck in combat, be poisoned, or have a random mob spawn in your location. So no, 60 minutes isn't enough in higher floors.
I came here to say exactly the same thing. I was solo on level 4 when I got the "30 min warning". As I result I thought I'd better start to rush &, as the saying goes, more haste - less speed resulted in me not levelling up from level 5+ like I had been doing. Got two beetles at once on floor 8 and as I was only a level 16 WHM they ganged up & slaughtered me. All progress lost.
That's the kind of thing that puts people off. Diadem was excessively long, Palace is excessively short. 90 minutes as a *minimum* is essential for solo Palace if they want us to enjoy playing it. I'm sick of zergs in this game, the only things that aren't tightly timed (of the top of my head) are open-world mob killing & crafting, therefore more time here would be fun. =3
Not only that but your experience is **NEVER** the same as another person's because of how Palace is designed. It works in the normal dungeons to say "well we did it in 30 minutes" but there's so many variables in Palace you can't make assumptions that other players had an experience even remotely similar. This isn't a dig at you Mellaz, it's reinforcements of your post. =)
I am pretty sure SE said that soloing PotD would be very difficult and only players who want a tough challenge should try it....if you think its too hard and or too painful to try solo only to fail on a floor and have to retry then it isn't really something you should be trying to solo...you should get a group to go with.
It seems like solo is more difficult depending on the RNG of the floor composition and also you need to strategize time versus exp/rewards and decide whether or not to explore the whole floor or take a loss in exp/rewards to save time if you are behind on schedule.
You also may need to use two save slots if you really want to solo in order to get more chances at silver boxes that upgrade your weapon and armor.
Someone didn't read what I said (also I didn't directly quote you so I am not sure why you assume I am directly taking to you). I am saying the time restraint is part of the difficulty. I guess I should have made myself more clear? I never said you didn't try to manage your time if you notice since I wasn't even directly talking to you.
Be rude if you want by saying I didn't read; are you really that mad you cannot solo it? Also my response was not entirely directed towards you since I didn't quote you it was a general statement in response to some of the posts in here. Some people in this thread have said dying and having to restart is mean or a put off. It's why I said that SE said already this would be difficult to solo so if it is a put off or you hate failing after doing so many floors only to have to restart that you shouldn't try to solo...I mean you are taking the risk of your own free will if you hate it go with a group.
You said you tried to skip boxes and manage your time but how do you know you did it to high efficiency? This content just started today and I doubt you or I know all the tricks and best item usage. It seems quick to give up when SE specifically said it would be difficult to solo. Maybe it is impossible to solo certain floors until you level up your weapon and armor to max but don't know until you keep trying, but that is part of the challenge of it.. RNG probably has a factor also and if you want to minimize it going with a group is safer.
TL;DR - I never said you didn't try to manage your time (since I wasn't directly talking to you anyway). All I said was time is part of the difficulty and it may take more than the first day of release to learn to manage it properly to solo effectively. Or may need to use two save slots to increase armor/weapon.
