I don't think Luminous Fiber will be turned into a specialist recipe, not just due to the way Camphor wasn't a specialist recipe, but because of the Glass Fiber material.
Glass Fiber will likely a time gated moogle beast tribe reward, similar to the Ehcatl Sealant from the Ixali. Having a material like this means the supply is easier to control without requiring it to be a specialist recipe. -

I have to agree with the posts above me. Why would they double gate an ingredient that you need multiple of? If the ixalts were any indicator there will not be a decent supply for about a week. That's alot of time to prepare.

I'm not sure which of the mats if any will be the gated item for making lum fibers. However I'm still convinced they'll make it a spc item b/c they have always stayed thru to the spc system with new crafting releases. You'll argue "camphor" wasn't SPC. Yet camphor was only used in ONE CRAFT. Yes that crafted item eikon leather was used across all the other major gear classes, but can't be attributed to CAMPHOR..... the lining of reason would then question how any mat used in multiple syn can be made into SPC only??
Lum fiber itself is used in every single new gear/tool craft and ALC didn't get that many new non glamour recipes!
SECONDLY on the topic of gated mats: IF indeed it is glass fiber... it takes 3 glass fibers to make one lum fiber and the majority of gear/tools require at least 2 fibers (6 glass fibers) !! WHAT kind of weekly allowance are you guys anticipating? You won't even be able to make more than one gear per week if the allowance is 6 or less?? When Red scripts first came out we were allotted 9 tokens which could craft a MH, OH, and 2 rings in one week or any other combo that used 9 tokens (avg 3 piece a week) -

If it's double gated it would be too expensive (time and Gil wise) to make one piece. Let alone sell pieces and mats on the AH. Those mats would pull 7 figures for 1 easy. 3 mil for 1 lum fiber is way too expensive.
