OP seems like very angry person.
I understand why the circle is there and thing is a ok idea...but yea, d/c persons should not be able to tie everyone else up. It would be a nice thing to fix.
It's happened to me enough over the 2 or so years that I notice that the circle stays stuck as long as their character is online but they are d/c. As soon as their character goes offline the circle rises. But yea, that can be minutes. And there is often little the d/c person can do about it as since their character is online still, they can't log back in. So the d/c person is stuck at the login screen with an error until the game decides they lost connection minutes later. All the while, the rest of the group is stuck in a circle... lol
Yea, hopefully it gets put on the list of quality of life fixes. All the it would take is the system to get a bit more sensitive to the "lost connection" situation... Because really, how often do you freeze up AND then suddenly get your connection back? If you are stuck for more than 10 seconds.... you are just gone and have to re-login most often. I think only one time in 2+ years I recovered from a 15 second "freeze" and I considered it a miracle... especially since I was doing a high gil craft.
I'd prefer they fix this:

Really, after 10 mintues it is clear a DC, so just auto log out.
Yeah, sometimes my game is fine, and then I get an instant 90k d/c. Then my character is still logged in for like, 5 BLOODY MINUTES while I am trying to log in, but can't because my character is still logged in, makes me so mad. I wish there was a "force logout" button on the login screen, so I can force my character to log out so I can log back in! Luckily I mostly run dungeons with my boyfriend who tells me when my character logs out, so I don't have to sit there spamming the login. (New Zealand internet ;-; )
Sometimes the instant d/c has my character logged in for so long, that it gets booted for inactivity.
