Good Job dev team, but please Yoshi go to sleep! For at least 20 hours, we will survive!
I appreciate for what Yoshi & XIV Team have done up till now and I have to say Good Job to them!
I fully believe that they have what it takes to make this game big and awesome.
Why? Because Yoshi made this Game better, and he also kept his promise! plus he even showed me something I'd have never expected at all! (Version 2.0!)
Keep it going Yoshi! but don't forget to take Extra sleep and rest so you don't get sick:p
I am super excited about this game. Yoshida and team have done a wonderful job thus far and I have confidence they will continue to do so.
two thumbs up from me
I no longer get excited or mad about news starting from the day they post the pdf files. When the update come i'll see if i get excited or mad it been a big disappointed to a lot of people every patch but i guess because you can't make everyone happy lol.
Let's hope 2.0 is worth the time and money because so far i'm enjoying the game i hope 2.0 make it better and not kill it for me lol.
I've gotta say that 1.19 has left me incredibly satisfied. I decided to start a new character on Mysidia with a friend to have a fresh look at all the new content, and from the first few battles, I felt that the leveling curve and combat felt much closer to what I was originally hoping for(this coming from a dude who was vehemently anti auto-attack). Being able to chain enemies and having enemies link was a pretty big game changer for us.
It only got better once we hit around level 14 and got into our first linkshell. Once we hit level 15 with our new friends, we started running Shopshae, which is still a crazy fun non-stop mob onslaught for our lower leveled classes. With leve allowances and crazy leve parties and behests, we were able to get everyone to level 25 relatively quickly and thus began our march to join the grand companies and eventually grab our own chocobos and challenge Toto-Rak. Well long story short, the bosses of Toto-Rak handed us our own asses, so we quit the place for a bit, but only to emerge victorious 4 levels later!
Going through the companies, seeing all the new plot, and FINALLY grabbing my own chocobo was a very rewarding experience and I love the direction the story is going in, although I can't believe anyone would think that chocobos are somehow easier to acquire in FFXIV. Armed with my trusty steed Altair, I soon set out to explore Eorzea and tag all the aetheryte camps and gates once again.. At least I would have were it not for all the bloody DIREMITES everywhere! :(
I decided to take a hiatus on the exploration(which was still fruitful and fun thanks to my bird) and focused on building my own unique class(a "dark monk" or as I affectionately call him, "the mob day ruiner"), which given the new battle balancing has been very rewarding and fun in preperation for my linkshell's inevitable first conflict with Ifrit and the total decimation of Toto-Rak once and for all.
To aid in this goal I decided to try both company leves and caravan escorts. I have to say that as the bloodlusting combat system whore I am, I love the thought of having wave after wave of enemy tossed into the fray so I'm appreciative of the company leves save for the guarding one, as I still need to work on my strategy there. Chocobo caravans are something that I thought would be a great addition, and I enjoy them a lot, but I just CAN'T FINISH THEM solo! This is probably a good thing though, and I'll need to "recruit"(sucker) some unsuspecting Maelstrom(where my Storm brothers at!?) members to aid in that endeavor.
All and all I feel overwhelmed with all the stuff I can do right now, and if patch 1.20 serves to amplify that, then I'll be one hell of a happy paying customer. So here's to Yoshi-P and his 250-strong army of developers and here's to the future of FFXIV!
Yeah! You guys have taken great leaps over the last year! Great job Yoshi-p and FFxiv DEV Team!! Keep up the good work.
I like words and pretty pictures when they're consistently followed up with changes from terrible gameplay to excellent gameplay, which has definitively been the case so far and I have no reason to believe that will suddenly change. It's been amazing watching the development of this game - albeit from afar for a few months, I'd stopped playing entirely leading up to 1.19 - and this'll be a pretty fun year to be playing the game, rather than a fun year to be... sitting around on my butt waiting for a re-release. :P Things aren't perfect, some things won't change until 2.0, but I can roll with that until then.
New dev team is awesome, community team's always been awesome, glad to see an appreciation thread :D
You are one negative dude.
ap·pre·ci·a·tion [uh-pree-shee-ey-shuhn]
noun
1. gratitude; thankful recognition.
2. clear perception or recognition, especially of aesthetic quality: a course in art appreciation.
3. an increase or rise in the value of property, goods, etc.
Understandably though, many people won't be excited due to the fact that we've been let down before by SE. I'm a positive person and like to keep my glass half full. A picture is worth a thousand words, and that picture reveals a vision for FFXIV that surpassed most people's expectations in one shot. Don't let people like Kirith bring you down.
