Why are ranged using LB so much now?

Well even if it's not better I noticed ranged lbs have faster animations (not caster lb). This might be nice because they can get back to attacking right away. Or the melee dps can continue to to attack without having to stop to use lb.

Regardless people just wanna see their big flashy attacks and since it's a shared meter this is bound to happen. You usually don't really need it much anyway.

I don't think that is the OP's position. It's not a question of melee not using it but ranged doing so before melee have a chance to do so. I play both melee and ranged and don't steal a break unless the melee refuses to use theirs. That certainly isn't the case when I play melee cause i use my break all the time and it irks me to no end when ranged dps use it and shouldn't.

A lot of people wait until the boss is below 10% before using their Limit breaks and some even forget to use it completely. But, there are also cases where you might as well pop the LB3 and see if you can fill up the Limit break bar to LB1 or higher. If that’s the case, you get to use the Limit Break multiple times in 1 encounter.

A great example for that would the the Cloud of Darkness. If done right, you can use 3 LB3’s during that particular encounter (although the question remains if it’s actually faster than just hitting the boss nowadays).

I think it’s a matter of preference or simply a spontaneous act of “I’mma firin’ mah lazah!”. I don’t really mind either way when it comes to dungeons and trials. As long as the target goes down before we do, it’s all fine by me. (^_~ )

"Shouldn't" is really subjective
Like I said before, if it would wipe the party I won't use it...which in most cases these days, is pretty much nothing except for Savage and possibly a few EX primals still.

It's a PARTY meter. Not a "melee DPS job only" meter.

I love my SMN LB3 but... whenever I do midas, I never use it, I did once, when we were all casters... I cried a little at the beauty of it. THO I will use it if LB in chat is said more times and the melee are doing nothing <o<;
