neither. it would still get hot fixes, but thats it.

If they stop "supporting" PS3 it would likely mean they just don't care about balance between systems anymore. PS3 wont get any UI stuff and players may suffer when PS4/PC get new tools. PS3 is still far to much of the playerbase for them to just kill off the system right now.
As for the OP... SSD no question... get one. With an SSD many PC players will be behind you. Basically the only people that beat me when I was on PS3 was people with PS4/PC and an SSD. SSD makes just about everything better with the PS3. It is also not a loss because some day you will be able to take that SSD out and put it in a PC or PS4 and get the bonus from it.
What others have been saying get a SSD it'll help a lot. Even a hybrid drive helps but an all out ssd is the best upgrade you can get there.
Get rid of that ancient toaster and buy a sexy gaming rig or PS4, faster load times with benefits!
just upgrade to ps4 :3 i hated load times when i played on ps3 :( always locked out of dungeons due to slow loading of cutscenes to cancel.. once i played on ps4 i was like <3....<3 lol
The load times on PS4 really aren't that bad. My GF plays PS4 and compared to my PC she loads in maybe 2 seconds slower than I do. Go with any respectable 2TB HDD and you'll be fine for a long time to come with the PS4. The best upgrade to load times for a PS3 is to buy a PS4. Quit beating around the bush and definitely don't waste money putting a better drive into a console that is on its way out the door.
