Neither really help with the situation, though.

I just want friends that I've deleted off my friends list to also have me removed from their friends list. Since it's a two-way commitment to become friends, it should immediately break the connection once one of them deletes the other.

I want a time limited ability (like, once every 3 hrs or something) to announce a message to my friends, ex. "Making bird farm group now" or "Planning X event in on [date]".

OP's idea is also nice so I know who to remove from friendlist if I suspect they're permanently gone from the game.
