Meanwhile, there is a 240+ page thread on this forum filled with posts about "little bad instances." Point being, people get upset or have a bad experience and just need to vent. It happens. You could argue this didn't need its own thread but that's an entirely different matter.

I'm with him, this would have gone over better in the DF vent thread. :)

The internet is good for that there plenty those people that have a short fuse that any moment could be set off by someones comment or actions.

It never went anywhere. Every community has bad eggs, dealing with them is part of life. Just blacklist them and move on.

It always sucks to deal with people like that, and some people have thicker skin than others, so I won't try and tell you to just ignore him. It can be pretty infuriating dealing with a jerk when most of us just want to play this video game and have fun.

That said, you showed a fair amount of disrespect for the other members of the party for essentially giving up and just tagging along. Where did your respect go?

Most players aren't like that BLM. Think about most of your df runs, I would venture a guess that most of them go by in relative silence, some are great with people joking and being friendly, and some are terrible with a person or two being toxic.

It's always sad to see someone have such a negative perception of the general playerbase based on a few bad apples.

I have never played a game where things like this have not happened. I don't agree with people acting disrespectful in any way, but that is never enough to make it go away.

I don't think a game does exist that is full of only respectful people, is not the reality of humanity.

I do find however that in the beginning of any new game there are far less disrespectful players, whether it is due to sheer lower populations or the fact that its "new" and people have yet to be scared by the game or by the actions of others....within a year, it all begins to show. More then likely a combination of both reasons. Experienced this pattern in every mmo I ever played.

This game was never immune to it, or free from it, nor any game. :(
