It's also a Final Fantasy game. It's just the nature of the beast. My friend who has been playing recently described his experience "It feels like I'm playing a regular Final Fantasy game where sometimes other players show up". Which is great for him and me since we both love the series and everything it is. If you're not a fan of cut-scenes and tons of talking just about any entry is this series is going to be painful experience. The whole big, long involved story thing is what Final Fantasy has been doing since the '80s and I don't think they're stop with that just because they took it online.

I actually enjoy the fact that this game has mandatory storyline unlike all the other MMOs where people rush to max level in a week, hop into the endgame and skip all the content in between. It's great running a new dungeon with my friends and at the end we all get a cut scene that we experience together and talk about afterwards. I wish more games had that, honestly.
