Did FFXIV make me racist?

I always queue for just English people and Don't mind waiting longer for a duty to pop up, if when I go in to a duty and another language is spoken I feel cheated and rather frustrated.

I wish square would make a server for just french and one for just german players. that really help party finders, duty finder would still be a problem.

It's annoying when people choose all the languages to get in quickly but don't know tactics. Using auto-translate is slow and frustrating and I'd rather avoid it especially when I only choose the language I can speak. You can't even translate mob names as far as I know. If there's at least one person speaking all the languages present, I think it would be easiest for them to translate.

However, I do think that people should be free to speak whatever language they want in dungeons. As long as they communicate with everyone when needed of course. If two French buddies queue together to a dungeon and chat with each other, who am I to tell they can't? It's a supported language too just like English. Sometimes the queue combines people of different language groups with only one person capable of speaking both, and that means both sides should be patient with foreign chatter. And keep their fingers crossed that the bilingual person is willing to translate tactics. :D

I don't feel segregation is the solution. The language groups are too spread out accross different servers and most probably wouldn't transfer to a new server and abandon their friends / lose their house. And where would these servers be? French speakers exist around the world and there would be latency issues. You are also forgetting that many players speak two or more languages fluently and making them have to choose between communities is a bit unfair. Party finder groups already have options to pick their language and the ability to kick anyone who doesn't follow the rules.

Most Balmungians speak English so I never had this problem.

And I think most French Canadians and European people can speak English as well. Maybe they can't communicate because they're on the PS4.

And yeah, most of the silent players are from PS3/4; i've obviously met some PC players really quiet also (the ones who never say "hello" or "bye" for example). But yeah, most of the time they are on PS3/4.

Who never tried the virtual keyboard on PS3/4 can't understand why that's better to stay silent. It's just awful...

I've encountered more bad E players than D or F (I can't mention J as there's very few of them on Chaos). It does totally make sense from a statistic point of view. More E than F+D combined, 'nuff said.

The problem is, however, when bad or failing players can't follow simple chat instruction and make the entire party fails. And there you have this F or D that can't understand a word in E and just got paired with E ppl using duty finder even if he just taged F language. He will just keep failing and make everyone focus on him, thus making F/D players a bad rep. But honestly, this is all because we all use E for party chat and because not everyone can speak it. Sometimes, when you see that F/D players that keep failing, be smart and stop using English that will sound russian or greek to them, use autotranslate.

I have to admit that reading minority language in a party can be irritating (that can be two F players talking F when 6 other are E, but same is when 2-3 E are pesting in party chat because the 6 other F players dares to speak F in an almost full fr group, works the same).

It has nothing to do with race so how can you be racist because of that ?
(or maybe you consider French ethnicity as an inferior race lol)
