Hmmm. Maybe if it could only be accessed if a player leaves w/o being vote kicked? Usually it's a tank or healer that leaves at the start, then available FList invite, but not if boot.
I think that, as of the moment, one reason we don't have this is due the server mechanics. While various chats work when we are in Duty, basically we are on different server space. The chats already work on their own server space which is why we can access them even during loading screens, but there is no connection otherwise to players outside of duty. Propably our clients couldn't even see who others are online, much less to send anything to them.
Maybe this could be overcome, but I think it would take drastic changes to the structure that is in place.
I agree that this would be a great feature with the appropriate abuse-preventative measures in place but I also believe that leaving another party that needed a tank just because it wasn't your friend's group is indeed poor form. I mean, I completely get that it's a sigh-inducing and frustrating situation when it happens but that's the risk you should be willing to take when you know full well that you may not get into the specific run you were looking for. Those people needed help too but instead it seems like you choose to slap them in the face just because "Oh I don't know you, so I don't care".
Actually I was stuck with them and pissed at the game for lacking important features. Due to this I wasted both my time and money to get some random people from different servers through the dungeon. I play the game to have fun, I am not payed to do content that is boring and that I done way too many times while leveling. So unless someone asks for help it is pointless for me to do said content. It should be good enough that I wanted to fill the tank spot in my friend's group, which also included two random players, because the next tank could have tanked the group I tanked and everyone would have been happy about it instead of disgusted.
That's precisely why people are asking this feature. The risk should not be there. No one's saying the current system is bad for those who want to get into random groups, for that purpose it seems to work rather well like intended. But as previously stated in this thread, that's not always the case. Some time the helper is not out there to be good samaritan (or to want fast boss only run) but wants to get some of their friends out of a pickle. Not all people have unlimited playtime. Besides, the other three random people would be as welcome to ask help from their own spheres of acquaintances.
And not everyone is going to have friends readily available to help them with an in progress duty. I get that people think picking and choosing specific instances to join in progress is going to help people, but in the long run, all it's going to do is cause everyone to either only pick duties that their friends are doing or look for duties in progress that happen to be "faster" than the other dungeon of the month.
I don't think so. When you need to do a roulette, the option to join a specific isntance of dungeon isn't going to help you with that.
On the other hand the lack of this feature is the main reason why less and less players are even willing to try Qing when someone asks for a replacement.
It's a right not an obligation.
gererally though if someone asks for help with an in progress duty then the only reason I would queue that duty would be to help them out. so if it puts me in a party with others how does that help them out.
sure those others need help too, but often the only reason I queued in the first place was to help my friends who asked for help, not the people in the other group I landed in. So had my friends not asked for help I wouldn't have queued and thus not joined the other group I got put in and as such it would still be seeking a replacement. so getting put in random groups helps no one at all.
Recently it's been a case that people will abandon a duty when they ask for help and start from the beginning just to be sure the help is in the right place and doesn't end up in another random group..
so yeah it does need the option to join a friends instance directly.
I get that. And in that situation they would get the next person who was ticking the "join party in progress" for the other reasons, just to run it for random. But as others are said, if I have an hour to play, I have decided I get some gather done, for once, and my friends ask help to get out of dungeon I could agree. I'm not joining in because I want a dungeon run. I'm joining in precisely because I want to help those particular people. Earlier the same day I might have done a roulette with ticking the "join in duty" just to help any random group. They are not mutually exclusive options. The game could have both. Just, tool for a purpose.
