Orchestrion Fail or Bugged??

I like the idea of collecting vinyl records music scrolls, but I do agree that it doesn't seem very Jukebox-ie. It has more of a Giant-Stereo-CD-Player feel to it, like, if in a weird alternate reality they had CD-Players hooked up to huge speakers at a restaurant and you could only bring your own CDs. And you weren't allowed to leave them in the disc drive so other ppl could fiddle with the songs. AND even worse, no one could hear the music you wanted to share, only you! Okay I'm being pretty dramatic here but it's still no Jukebox to me. > 3>

From my understanding, the Orchestrion is a personal jukebox that can be placed in an FC house/personal house/inn. The key word here is personal. Much like the armoire/summoning bell/the unending journey log or even crystal bell. You just need one in the FC house that allows everyone to use these items. But the content is restristed to each individual's achievement (accessing their personal items, viewing cutscenes for completed quests, even changing hairstyles only up to those styles they have unlocked).

Thus this Orchestrion thing works the same way. You only need one in an FC house but its content will vary depending on individuals. It makes sense and isn't a bug. Just how it functions.

Honestly my only complaint with the Orchestrion is how awful it sounds. I was hoping for a replacement to the housing music, as in replacing the sound around the house without it actually coming from the Orchestrion. What purpose does that have, immersion? FFXIV is the least immersive game I've played in recent time. To top it all off, because of the sound coming from the Orchestrion you can't tuck it away somewhere so you have this odd looking machine that doesn't fit in with your decorational theme.

But that's my only complaint with 3.2 so that's great, I'll just not use the Orchestrion for now.

Yes.

If you are the person changing the music you only can change it to a song you own, but if someone else fires up a song you do not own you will still hear that song.

Glad I didn't rush out to get one for our FC house.
I was hoping for some way of changing the background music, those same 2 tunes over and over drive me nuts.
This looks like a fun feature but considering how limited it is, perhaps more suited to a personal room.

I quite like the way it is. Anything else would have been a logistical nightmare - what if you picked up the FC's jukebox and moved it to a private room? Or replaced it with some future, cooler-looking variant in another patch? And what if you got a rare song then added it to your FC's jukebox - then left the FC and couldn't add it to your own? Also, some of my FC members are lazy about collecting things and this way I can force them to listen to Blood For Blood 24/7 until they figure it out.

Agree there should be an option for how the sound disperses through the house though.

If anyone expected this to not involve collecting when the first heard of it they were just setting themselves up for disappointment.

Its an MMO of course theres gonna be collecting/grinding for it.

having it so anyone in the FC could use it, would give another activity for fc members to do together and feel like they have achieved something as a Fc and community and group....
