I worded my request improperly. I meant for it to be in the positive sense of "end." As in, when the story is complete, and there's nothing left to add.
To me, the cover gives the sense of hearing the echoes of all that transpired in Eorzea: the Warriors of Light, the Warriors of Darkness, gods and men; birth, life, and death; and, ultimately, memories of how the world survived its final hour.
Absolutely wonderful. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
I absolutely adore Answers as a song, but I don't think it should be used again. It was already a bookend for the Calamity. For the beginning and ending of Bahamut's impact on modern day Eorzea. It's very hard to imagine it being used again and stirring in me the feelings it did when the full chorus hit after Teraflare in T13.
Ah, I see. I'm sorry, the game I played before FFXIV was White Knight Chronicles which was terminated without reason less than two years after WKC2 arrived. It was a game that really came alive online, and barely 18 months after dropping a guild systen on us, the game was gone. It's left me very wary, and sensitive about the longevity of games online.
well that was a waste of 30 seconds.
For me, Answers is very strongly linked to the end of the 1.0 story + the wrap-up of said story in ARR.
So personally, I don't know if I want to see it used for something else and was happy that HW got it's own song.
Then again, after countless expansions, all with their own main theme, when the game comes to its final end, hearing that song again would be special too, resurfacing memories of vanilla FFXIV.
@song: Lol, I found that cover like 2 days ago too, completely unrelated xD
@thread title: When FF14 Ends...I want SE to release an offline version of the game that I can play whenever I feel like it like any other main title FF game :x
The only reason FFXIV ended was because it was an utter failure of a game. FF mmos don't tend to "end"
