If you don't want to sell it you could always find someone to desynth it but, as someone that desynths stuff frequently, the odds are fairly small to get the whisker back that way. I'd say maybe try to sell it on marketboard.

But as others have said, next week they are adding a new recipe for a mog whm cane. It was mentioned before the patch notes... like a month ago in a live letter I think? I mean, it's not like everyone watches those or reads the translations (if there is one) cause it's so early in the morning when it's on.

Seriously though... while I'm not sure the vendor can take the one you got for trade like the other person mentioned (I'd check on tuesday to make sure though), why not try talking to a GM and see if they'd trade it out for you as your one time item replacement? It's kind of a grey area but, if you get the right GM they might feel comfortable doing it. Just be nice to the GM! Being nice goes a long way to getting what you want of course. Trading out items that were gotten in error has been a MMO staple for a long time. Of course you wouldn't be able to trade it out till thursday since that is when the new recipes come out apparently. I know tuesday would make sense since that was when the maintenance is but thursday is the crafter script reset weekly time.

It's worth a shot anyway. It's not like a GM would be mean about you asking. It's a mistake anyone could make really.... It's the same as accidentally buying the wrong tomestone item to me anyway.

Well, I stayed up all night farming that crap for days. Oh well, I can only hope they make the crafted one tradeable, too.

No, only the crafted ones have the glow. But SE already said even the one-handed weapons that didn't get a two-handed version yet will get it in the near future. And again, I'm not even sure if the crafted Mog weapon isn't already affected by it this patch.
At most, it's a bit of waiting until you can glamour it.

You had to have looked at the recipe for the weapon at some point (either to craft it yourself or to find out which mats are needed to make it), or if you bought the finished weapon off the market board, you saw the weapon before buying.
In all of these instances, it said "one-handed weapon" at the top, and it's not like a Lvl 60 WHM never encountered a one-handed weapon before on her journey from lvl 1 to 60.
I understand that it's frustrating to you, but there were many ways for you to know about this regardless of how long you have played, so I feel like your anger is unjustified and should, if anything, be directed at yourself.

At this point I don't even care to be honest. I got over excited. Whatever. I guess I will try and contact a GM and see what happens.

Be aware though that the reclaim is a one-time thing. If you EVER loose anything important again, that chance is gone. If I remember right, even account-wide, not just per character.
It's your choice, but are you really gonna waste that on something you can get in a few hours (or a few weeks at most) anyways?

I would urge you to wait for the patch. You picked a really good time to just now figure out the differences between 1h and 2h weapons. From what I've read, you will be able to change 1h for 2h and vice versa. It didn't sound like the expensive crafted versions were any exception.

But just make sure you remember to look before you leap next time!

So is selling it on the MB out of the question for OP? They on Gilgamesh which last I knew was close to the same size as Balmung which there sells for 6 million gil.

Not only does it say "One handed Conjurers Arm" right on the item description, but how did you not try it on, to see how it looked before even grinding for it?

If you had done even minimal research for it, you would have seen it is one handed, and a quick look at google or the patch notes would tell you it will be two handed tuesday.

Now I know you can trade the dropped items for two handed, but I'm not sure about the crafted ones. Thats why I am saving my mats for tuesday before making them.

Stop being so foolish, rekax and read the patch notes. They are going to make WHM/BLM weapons all 2H weapons, either in this patch or revisions to come.

P.S. Should have waited for your retainers, so far I've been given 2 kingly whiskers by my retainers.

The patch is just a few days away, so be little patient and do a trade when it comes out.

I know alot of people told you that you should've done your research, but I disagree seeing as how pretty much all weapons after level 50 are two handed staff weapons, it's not at all difficult to assume that WHM/BLM Primal weapons would be two handed or something. It's just one of the dumb things they implemented in 1.0 and more or less tried to carry over in this game.

But otherwise, be glad you made your mistake so close to a patch that can fix it for you.
