Is Alexander and the goblins a throwback to FFXI?

That's what I'm hopeful for, actually: I want to see Alexander go haywire or something in preparation for 3.4. They at least fixed some of my complaints about Gordias with Midas (the environments look more interesting and the gear looks better). I'm hoping they can do the same with it narratively. I wish they would have changed the music, though...the Alexander music doesn't compare to the Coil music at all.
