That's simply not true.
If you want something done right, do it yourself.

Weird, I must have quick synth'd dozens of quicksilvers, mortars, rubbers, growth gammas etc., and I've never had a fail...
So, making mats where all it takes is 2 X CSII to complete, I click quick synth and get failures? The heck that make sense, as for the make it yourself what press macro 1 then macro 2 lol pls.
If you can the item with just CSII and using cp to master meld etc blah blah with current gear, then qs should never fail.
im making things where oe or two cs2 succeeds and i quick synth and fail not cool. fine they dont have to remove the feature but ease up on it jeez ive been failing quite a bit more then i should
trust me my gear was high enough and i failed something 3 4 times in a row not cool
As others stated, gear level determines success rate of quick synthing items. Generally from what I noticed, level 60 gear has a 100% success rate for items less than level 55. Anything higher has a definite chance of failure. Items comparable to gear or higher will fail quick synthesis. This cannot be helped and the system shouldn't be adjusted for this reason alone.
It used to be that no matter what, quick synth had a chance to fail (probably 5%, which would fall in line with a lot of systems used in FFXI, incidentally)
It was changed such that if your gear is good enough, it will never fail.
To quick synth stuff of comparable level (this was true even at 50 cap) you didn't need just entry level 50/60 gear, but actually pretty good gear for 50/60. I'm not sure what stats are taken into account, probably just craftsmanship, but if you ever fail a quick synth it means your gear is still too low.
