The big difference for the accessories is CP. Full i170 accessories melded for max CP gives you 17 more CP than the whites with full CP melds. That's a free Basic Touch conversion unless your rotation currently takes every last CP you have.
The rings can be max melded without tier V materia. The others would take a craftsmanship V apiece if you want to 100% max them out (Crafts V capping at +9, Control IV x2, CP IV x2) but if you use a craftsmanship IV instead you only lose 3 craftsmanship per piece (or 9 total.) I would be shocked if that margin makes the difference to whether it's possible to make new recipes, especially since they're most likely planning the numbers around someone who has the i180 set.

Also you can max meld the feet, hands, legs and hat without T5 materia.

Got all the accessories/belt crafted... there were some stressful moments with the RNG hating me (all the astral lumber ended up NQ inspite of 95-98%), but forged ahead anyways, last ring, all NQ starting mats, half the HTs failed, no good procs. only about 20% after BB, but finally the RNG took pity and it still HQ'd.
Going to start melding the rings.... still not sure about the rest.. would prefer to wait for tier 5s for that first meld.... Luckily our airships have been bringing back a nice amount of t4s... still not enough to keep up with this sort of meld approach though.

rank V materias at such price point are not worth imo to meld just yet, they were probably implemented soon but meant for probably something higher than the AF2.
Depending on what SE decided to go after last months feedback about specialiazations, there is 2 possible routes: Gonna really embrace specialists or just left them to fall into the category of dead ideas never finished. If its the first, and im a 90% sure it will be, i would be forgetting about ever seen a mastercrafter set like adept or artisan ever again... At least till a much later stage. What i can see in the future is specialist exclusive crafting gear, like an upgraded i180 main tool, even some kind of relic tool (purple) only aviable to specialist (as combat relics are only aviable to jobs, not classes). Considering scripts and specialist are basically SE way to equal crafters and gatherers to combat classes i can totally see that in the future.

Just a quick one, are we gonna carry on crafting with our ilvl170 gear? Or are we getting something new like artisan? Just wondered or if there was any news on that
