How come AST cards dont heal the Target?

Duirnal AST are fine

Nocturnal AST.... D: i hate it that there i no sync with our skills... Time dialation and celestrial opposition goes right out the window... Plus slow cast speed .... Feels soo slow to heal at times or do even try and deal damage it feels mega clunky ... Where as duirnal is good ....

I always die a little if im running Void Ark and get pairee up with an AST who in weaker gear and will not switch out of diurnal which forces me to play Nocturnal D: .... The sect idea was good on paper but so far everything is favouritable towards diurnal... Where nocturnal ..... Yeah i hate nocturnal sect soo much :(

I dont think its weak outside of Nocturnal but it would be a nice thing to its tool kit as it would give MP Free heals. This would also make up for the lack of a fairy in Nocturnal Stance as the cards can buff and restore health Off GCD so the person can keep Dpsing

Because most of them compare them too much with whm/sch... ill never hear people screaming out for more whm/sch buffskills... why are so much ast crying for stronger heals? Ast should be a cls of its own not a hybrid-clone thingy... the Dui healing-kit is great and the card-system is a funky bonus - but i like upcoming ideas in this thread like giving gravity a statuseffect or like:

this would make the ast even more unique and outstanding in comparisson with the burst healing whm or the dps hybrid sch - but thats just my opinion ^^

If you compare astro to white mage then astro is the stronger of the two. It is compared with scholar and nocturnal people seem to be referring too.

I actually like the idea of cards healing, would make sense that given you have your heals nerfed to compensate for the "buffs" which barely give a bump for leaderboards, it would be nice if it at least gave a small heal, or regen if in Diurnal and a shield if in Nocturnal..... That or make it as noticeable as buffs were from Corsair and Bard in 11 were. When you saw those buffs go up, it was a HUGE bump in DPS opportunity..... rather then a slight suggestion as it is now.

Also as a "Healer" it is weak, it is missing various healing abilities that the other classes have, and has lower potencies/durations then other classes to be compensated by it's cards which are RNG and are not consistently as effective for the hit done to healing. Is that to say it's a terrible class? No, a skilled healer can manage very well with it and can even clear difficult content.... Problem is a mediocre WHM/SCH can do the very same. If it's going to take more skill to operate the outcomes it produces should be greater.

If cards are going to nerf our ability to heal, and SE is set that there is no "Enhancing" Classes and only "Tank, DPS, Healer" then the least they can do is make the buffs so dramatic that it's worth the 4 times you drew that ewer, or the one 3 times you've actually casted a card.

The long and short of what I'm saying is either add more means to heal for AST (cards cure + Buff), OR double down on card buffs so that when you get that balance it's a "ZOMGS! BLOW ALL MUH COO DOWNS NOW!"

Astrologians heals aren't weak - it's just poor performance on the players part.

^^ I disagree, sure you can make due with a smaller kit and preform as good as other healers in harsher content, but if you applied that skill to WHM or SCH that have a far more advanced kit for such a role, you would do far better then you would if you played AST. Because it takes far less skill and management to play WHM/SCH then it does to play AST. That is just a fact. The end of the conversation is when you can play a role the same as other roles, and it is less effective then the other roles, then that class is considered irrelevant. The cards aren't even a noticeable buff outside of means that shal not be named, especially when you consider how world shattering a BRD/COR buffs were in 11. When you got those buffs you blew all your cool downs immediately to blow up mobs.

In this game it's just sort of a "Oh... well that's nice... *continues basic rotation*". And I'm saying this because AST has heals nerfed (in kit size, and potency) for the sake of cards, much as WAR has less CD defensive mitigation because it can stance swap and push phases..... No one in the history of EVER has pushed a phase thanks to AST cards, it just doesn't happen. And because it doesn't it's frankly a flawed class that needs to be buffed to too strong and then gradually toned down, rather then starting from the floor and moving up an inch every patch. Class has made such a terrible name for its self that unless this next patch makes it super strong, it will still go on being one of the lowest played classes in the game.
