What if Sheltron was...a GCD ?

It would be like Clemency. PLDs would all claim it's the best thing ever right up until they actually use it ingame, then start complaining that it takes up a GCD and makes them lose DPS.

The problem of Clemency is not the GCD part, but the very long casting time and the ridiculously high mp cost.
If those two were adjusted, any PLD claiming that Clemency is garbage would better quit PLD.

With this, being a good PLD would be knowing when you need to block and when you need to attack, depending of the flow of the fight or the situation of the party.

Yeah which for me would make ST being on GCD kinda useless or doesn't fit in a sense.

What would you say if it worked like, you press it once, you go into shield stance, you can't move, can't rotate can't use skills but all physical damage from the front is blocked?

Agree, it's just the same as SS, some PLD say it's rubbish but you just got to know when and find the time to use it.

Spamming it would be useless, but I don't see how "having it any time you actually want it" is. A chain block sure would be more useful in raid than a chain Stun, nowadays...:p

And I suppose you need to click it again to turn it off, like Cleric Stance. What recast would you give to it ?

that is one thing I miss, chain stunning or using Silence to block certain incoming attacks.
