...Lol~. But seriously. Even though this is obviously a bait thread, I do agree that people shouldn't be freaking out as much as they are. To me, it seems that obtaining the 210 Anima weapon requires the same amount of effort as working to clear A4S. Only really reasonable argument I've seen against it is that it might not be so fair to those who already did that work for their A4S weapons... But then again, they don't really NEED another 210 weapon (and one that is arguably lacking in stats in comparison), do they? If they want it that badly, that's their choice, and they should probably do the grind like everyone else. At the same time, I would be open to A4S helping with progress on the relic... Perhaps dropping tokens at a low rate, or the HQ turn-in items at a VERY low rate? (Might also encourage some more groups to challenge Savage.)

One thing that this game has taught me through countless hours of fishing is that you need the correct bait.

I dont think this bait is effective here.

I have like 6 weapons from a4s. I am mad about anima because it is a duty finder quest with 0 thought or creativity put into it and I was kind of looking forward to having something to do. They could have at least had it require a Ravana Extreme kill or something; even mouthbreathers should be able to manage that at current item levels.

Did you not see how the 2.X relics were handled? What made you think 3.X would be any different?

2.0 relics had a decent quest at the start before turning into a garbage fire. I didn't expect anything different this time, but I hoped there would be something better. Alex Savage and (especially) Diadem were half assed, so mayyyybe they spent some dev time on this quest instead.

Turns out they actually just had an intern bang it out in an afternoon.

No. I wanted to not grind old content over again while mind-numbingly banging my head onto the table. Grinding isn't the problem for me. Thousands of hours in various versions of PSO. Other MMOs for a couple years at a stretch. I just want the grinding to be reasonably entertaining.

I would continue leveling that Fisher of yours. I don't think the bait you're using is the correct one.

The whole anima stuff wasn't actually that bad now that we're a few weeks in, but I never experienced the old relic grind and thus wouldn't know how it feels like to have to go through that again (in terms of this essentially being recycled from there in some ways, as many veterans claim).

It's not that it wasn't a handout, pretty much all of the criticism revolved around the design combined with the timing of this relic's release (especially considering this probably could have just been released with 3.1 outright, although that would have also resulted in 3.15 not really having any content besides that ongoing scholarly quest line) just created an initial crapstorm. Even moreso now that 'more cash shop stuff is being made/less actual content is being developed, where are all the funds going' sentiment is very strong now, going off of the hypothetical questions to the devs in that live letter thread two weeks ago.
