Melee lb is avoidable. you just need to move right before he caste or as he just beginning the lb caste. if you see a melee focused you.. well expect the lb coming and act accordingly.
If you purify and sprint away, melee lose the lb instantly.

I could never outrun a melee limit break once it began casting to be honest, even with repelling shot, so the best you can do is run behind them if you're close enough I believe. I'm usually targeted with it while in the middle of pure chaos, so it's near-impossible to foresee until it's already happening most of the time.
Also, maybe people were referring to the original ranged LB, but I actually find it very good. You just naturally can't use it in the same manner you would melee and you need to be more patient for the opportunity to show itself to you rather than use it just so you can start building your next one for the same, hasty use.
My dear OP..I can't help but notice you play smn. In addition to a melee LB gimp..would a ranged defense reduction of say...60% be agreeable to make your smn experience more enjoyable? In addition...perhaps each melee should be required to forfeit one slot of body armor before entering a given match?? OOoh..and just to be SURE things are balanced...how bout all melee AA be disbaled UNLESS...they are no less than 10 yalms away from target?
The real LB problem is with BRD/MCH, with it being being dependent on the Y-axis. IF i can shot you with my weapon i should be able to aim my LB at you, not 30 yalms above or below you.
